Star Wars: Galactic Defense Walkthrough [Guide]

In a galaxy, far, far away, there are wars being waged between the light side and the dark side, and no matter which faction you belong, you will have no choice but to join in the battle. Test your strategy in the field – as well as the strength of your champions – as you face against wave after wave of enemy units in Star Wars: Galactic Defense. The game features characters, locations, and other elements that Star Wars fans will be entirely familiar with, but the gameplay itself is something that will be really enjoyable as well. Embrace either the Light or Dark Side (or both), and engage the enemy much more effectively with this comprehensive guide.

Gameplay
Star Wars: Galactic Defense is a tower defense game where in players must prevent wave after wave of units from getting to your base. Having a set number of enemies getting through will result in failing the stage. In order to prevent this from happening, players can place towers at strategic locations so that these structures will attack units that will go through a set path. Players will also get to control different characters, called champions, which can be controlled and commanded separately.

Players will also gain control of different elements such as support cards, synergies, as well as relics that can be used to help you out during each stage. Players may choose different campaigns under both the Light and Dark side.

Currency
The two types of currencies within Star Wars: Galactic Defense are Galactic Credits and gems. Galactic Credits serve as the game’s basic currency, and these can be used for purposes such as recruiting new champions or purchasing both active and passive support cards. Regular gameplay will yield Galactic Credits, and so will Rewards Chances at the end of each stage and by completing achievements, among other methods.

Gems, on the other hand, are the game’s premium currency. It can be used to instantly upgrade champions, purchase additional energy and Galactic Credits, and unlock Champion slots early. Gems are acquired sparingly for free, and the most effective way to get a considerable amount is via in-app purchases. This is completely optional, however, and players can actually go through the game without the use of this resource.

Energy
Like most mobile games, Star Wars: Galactic Defense utilizes an energy system. Playing a stage will require one energy, and you will no longer be able to play if it runs out. Players can wait for it to refill over time, however, or they can purchase refills using premium currency. Energy over the maximum capacity can be acquired, but under normal circumstances you can only carry up to five energy at a time.

Stages
Stages within the game are divided by worlds, and each world has different missions that the player can enter. Each mission has five different difficulty modes, with each one unlocking as you progress through each. The more difficult the mission, the higher your score and, ultimately, the better the rewards that you will be able to get. Of course, you would have to ensure that your forces are strong enough for these most difficult stages, which is why it is recommended that you go through all novice stages first before going through harder difficulty modes. Finishing a mission once will also unlock the next mission in the world.

Each mission will also allow players to earn a maximum of fifteen stars, and this is divided by three across the five difficulty stages in the mission. Stars awarded will depend on the player’s score in the mission, and collecting enough stars is required so that the next available world will be unlocked, giving you access to even more missions. Take note also that choosing either the Dark side or Light side will make different types of missions available.

Towers
Players can place towers in predetermined locations within the map. There are four main types of towers available, and each will differ when it comes to method of attack. For example, some are good against multiple weak opponents, while some can deal heavy but slow damage to multiple enemies at once. Still, another type of tower will constantly generate fighters that will slow down enemy units from advancing. Placing the right types of towers and placing them strategically is important, and so is knowing which types of towers work best against which types of units that will appear in each wave.

As players progress through missions, their towers will level up. This means that players can upgrade towers that have already been placed in the field and even transform them so that they can become more effective in battle. Again, turning towers into the best form against enemies is essential to assure victory. Towers that you want to replace or otherwise get rid of can be sold off for additional scrap.

Scrap
Scrap is the resource that is required when placing or upgrading towers. Players will begin with a supply of scrap which they can then use to build or upgrade towers in between waves. Players can also do this during enemy attacks, although this is not recommended since players must focus more on upgrades rather than building whenever scrap becomes available. Scrap is collected whenever enemy units are destroyed, and there’s also a passive support card which would allow you to start the game with more scrap than usual.

Champions
Players can acquire as well as purchase champions, which can then be placed along the path in any location that they wish. Up to three champions can be selected and controlled in a mission, but players must either reach certain parts of the game or pay premium currency in order to make additional slots available.

Champions have access to special skills which can be activated once a certain cooldown period has been reached. Players must be familiar with these abilities so that they can better take advantage of these in battle. Champions may also be leveled up either by using gems or by constantly using them in battle. The higher the champion’s level, the more effective they are in a fight. Of course, players would also have to monitor their health as they can also be killed in battle.

Synergies
Synergies are special boosts which would provide champions with an increase in stats. Planet synergies will provide champions with affinities to the current planet being played in with bonuses, while champion synergies will increase the stats of champions that belong in the same faction, such as having all champions being Jedis. Use this concept to your advantage when selecting which champions to deploy so that they will be more effective.

Support Cards
Two types of support cards are available. Active support card are consumable and can be called upon in battle, while passive support cards are only effective for the duration of one stage. Examples of active support cards are the Orbital Bombardment which allows players to attack all enemies in the area and the Fortify Base card which replenishes the health of your base. As for passive cards, Endorsement lets you start off with 500 more scrap while War Experience lets you earn bonus XP. Support cards will require Galactic credits to purchase and players should take note that both the Dark and Light side have equivalent versions of these types of cards.

Relics
Relics are another way of boosting your effectivity in battle. Relics can be equipped for either towers or champions, and these would provide boosts in their abilities. Equipping the right relics is another essential part of assuring victory for your team. Relics will be earned at the latter parts of the game.

Rewards Chance

Finishing stages will provide you with a rewards chance, which are essentially random items that will be provided to you at no cost. Examples of prizes are Galactic Credits, support gems, and sometimes even gems. Take advantage of these and always hope that you are able to get gems as these can really help you purchase items that you might need later on.

Achievements
Star Wars: Galactic Defense also offers different types of achievements for players to complete. Some achievements must be completed within a specific stage while others can be progressed through multiple missions. Completing achievements may earn players rewards such as Galactic Credits or even valor which would provide you with higher rankings that you can boast about especially if you connect the game to Facebook and share your achievements with your friends.
