In Airport City and Airport City HD for the iPhone, iPad and Android (this is true for the Facebook version too), planes break down every so often and need to go into the repair bay to get fixed. When you take them to the repair bay, you need to jump through all kinds of hoops to get the plane fixed. It can be a bit of a pain, but you can’t play normally again until you get your planes up and running. Read on to find out how to get going again!
To repair an airplane that has broken down, you need specific parts to get it. One of the ways to get these parts is to ask your neighbors for them. To find neighbors, you can do one of two things. You can connect the game to Facebook or Twitter and add people that way, and/or you can post your code to be added somewhere (even in the comment box below). You can also get these parts using Cash, but who wants to spend real money?
In addition, send your planes that still work out on flights and often they will bring back these repair parts with them. The same thing holds true for bringing in guest flights – while it is less likely with guest flights, they will bring parts back with them. Every time you complete a collection that gives you a mystery set (Lost and Found is one of them – bring guest planes in for this), that mystery set has a chance at scoring you some free plane parts.
You can also just sell the airplane and buy an identical airplane, as well. The one that you buy will work perfectly.
As far as storing items in the warehouse goes, unfortunately, the only items that can be put into the warehouse are those that you earn from flights that brought them back, or that your neighbors sent to you. You can’t store a building in the warehouse once it’s already put into place. If you want to get rid of it, though, you can sell it and then later, if you need it again, you can buy an identical building.
