How to play Dragon Story: New Dawn – Walkthrough, FAQ and Beginner’s Guide

Welcome to the walkthrough for Dragon Story: New Dawn, a new spin on a classic game for the iPhone and the iPad. Dragon Story was the original, and Dragon Story: New Dawn is a semisequel to the old game, adding many extras that you could not previously get in the game. For those of you who have not played the first game before, Dragon Story: New Dawn is the foremost dragon-raising game on iOS, and fans of the Facebook game Dragon City will certainly enjoy it as well. Read on for the beginner’s guide to Dragon Story: New Dawn!

First of all, to those who have played Dragon Story before, you will be able to jump right into the game. Your old saved game from Dragon Story will be ported over to New Dawn the second you load it up, and all of your old dragons, habitats, buildings and decorations will be there. The main differences are new graphics, more habitats and decorations, and new dragons added, such as the Magic Dragon and Light Dragon, which are two all-new elements that you can not only buy, but breed.

Now, for the rest of the beginner’s guide. As you begin the game, you start off learning how to hatch dragon eggs, raise baby dragons and feed them. Your island will have a Nest to begin with, and you can buy your beginning eggs (Fire Dragon, Forest Dragon) and raise them, as well as the Red Rocks and Green Grove habitats. As you go, you’ll also unlock the Air Dragon and the Water Dragon, as well as their respective habitats.

Your dragons will earn you a certain number of coins per hour, and each habitat can hold a maximum amount of coins before being collected from. How do you get your dragons to earn you more coins per hour? Simple. Feed them. To do this, buy farms and use them to grow food.

The food that you grow ranges from buffbeets, which take thirty seconds to grow, all the way up to fireapples, which take an hour each to grow. As you feed your dragons, you will be able to literally watch them grow, as well as watch the income grow that they earn you per hour.
