How to play Car Town Streets for iOS: Walkthrough, FAQ and Beginner’s Guide

Welcome to the beginner’s guide to Car Town Streets for the iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as the iPad and iPad mini! This is a sequel to the smash hit time management and racing game for Facebook, the original Car Town. Being an iOS game, some of the more Facebook-esque features are gone, replaced with features that are more appropriate to mobile games, taking influences from such hit titles as Dragon Story and Rage of Bahamut. Make no mistake, though, this is still the Car Town world that you know and love that lets you collect real cars!

Starting off the game, the first thing that you will do is to find a car using Rusty’s Garage, a little red building in the upper right corner of the screen with a rusty vintage American tow truck next to it. Tap the building and then go to the “Find Car” button and you will be able to start your mission. Your first area will be the Suburbs, but as you gain levels you will unlock further locations which have different (and rarer) cars.

When you’re at one of these locations, you have ten pins that you can search. They will provide you with goodies such as coins, experience, gas refills and trophies, but each time that you find a car, a little picture of a car on a crate will pop out of a pin. You can sometimes find 2 or 3 cars (or more) in one location).

When you get back to your village, you will be able to start a build on one of the cars that you just found. To do this, tap on Rusty’s Garage or on the garage across the street from it, and select one of your builds. Once the required amount of time passes, the build will be transformed into a brand new car.

Each car has a number of statistics. Each car will have a Power ranking, which means how fast it will be in a race, although generally, a bigger car or truck with a higher Power rating is often slower than a lower-powered small car. Fuel per race is how much fuel is required per race in order to have that car in your offensive or defensive party. The coin counter is how many coins the car will earn you every 5 minutes. Rarity is how relatively uncommon a car is – its rarity can be common, scarce, rare, highly rare or legendary; or it can be “plus” versions of all five of those rarities.
