Big Win MLB is the latest in the long series of sports games by Hothead Games for the iPhone and Android. It is a sequel to the classic Big Win Baseball, with a major change being that in this game, the players aren’t made up players from made up teams. This time Hothead got MLBPA permission to use the names and likenesses of real players and real teams, so in this game you actually get to build your team from real life baseball players. It starts off simply enough but it can get difficult very quickly so read on for some tips and tricks to make it much easier to win!
In the pennant mode, there are two different modes that you can play. In amateur mode you will get matched up against players who have similar experience levels as your team. However, in pro mode you and other players will get matched up more randomly. When you are at earlier levels in the game, it is best to play the amateur mode, but when you become one of the more powerful teams around, start playing in the pro mode and you will actually have an easier time, not to mention win bigger prizes.
When you first begin the game, you will get a starting total of 1450 coins and 11 big bucks, which can go a long way if you spend them correctly. Spend 1000 coins to get a silver card pack right out of the gate and spend 10 big bucks to get a gold card pack. They won’t always earn you more players, but they will frequently enough to make it worth it and even if they don’t at the time, all of the boosts that you get from the big impact cards will make a huge difference.
Your skill cards will definitely help as well, but you need to be judicious on which players you improve using your skill cards. Don’t bother using any of them on bronze players as these are the players who are the most easily replaced. Instead, use them on your silver, gold and platinum players as they will be more difficult to replace and thus more valuable.
