Fans of the Fast and Furious franchise, especially the newer movies with more exotics and muscle cars and less souped up compacts, will certainly enjoy the new Fast and Furious 6: The Game, by Kabam (yes, the same company that made Kingdoms of Camelot). Fast and Furious 6: The Game puts you in the middle of the story, with Dom, Brian, Roman, Tej and Vegh, among others from the movie. You get to take on various racing and drifting challenges, as well as follow the story of the criminal gang that we all know and love. Read on for the beginner’s guide to Fast and Furious 6: The Game!
Right from the outset you will be taken to the car shop where you’ll buy your first ride. Your choices will be between a Ford Gran Turino and a 5-door Honda Civic, with a special bonus car, the E30 BMW M3, being available to buy for gold. These are your Class 1 cars, which will be available to your in your race through the southwest.
As you progress in the game, you will be able to unlock five more classes of cars, with the cars becoming more and more powerful with each class that you unlock. You unlock the next class by unlocking the next region in the game. Region 1 is the Southwest, and there are 5 total regions, just as there are five total classes of cars.
When you start the game in the Southwest, you’ll have a number of challenges to complete, as well as options to watch the trailer or listen to music from the film. The challenges consist of various drag racing challenges and drifting challenges. The ladder challenges start off easy, and get tougher every time as you “move up the ladder”, for example. The daily challenges (daily quarter mile, daily drift and daily half mile) happen only once per day, and you only get one shot to complete them.
The drag challenge and the drift challenge are similar to the ladder challenges, except that you have a set amount of “levels” apiece that you have to work through. For example, in the Southwest, each one has five levels. The most important challenges are the story challenges, which are also the most lucrative and some of the most difficult, as well as the most diverse. Some of them are drift challenges, some of them are drag challenges. Some of them even require you to get through checkpoints before you actually get through the finish line.
