Chains of Durandal is a new iOS and Android card battling RPG by DeNA, running on the Mobage network. Chains of Durandal puts you in the shoes of a card collecting benevolent mage whose mission is to stop the evil mage Nergul, whose goal is to harness the power of all of the cards that he can, which would thus allow him to take over and subdue the world. You accomplish this by completing quests, battling against other players, and otherwise working to become more powerful than Nergul himself. Read on for some tips and tricks for Chains of Durandal!
Unlike many card battling games, Chains of Durandal contains no method for “evolving” your cards – therefore, you have to enhance your cards by sacrificing other cards in order to power them up, and you can enhance any card you want without worrying about wiping out its statistical gains later on by evolving it. Still, though, enhance only the rare and higher cards, as they are the ones who are most likely to stay in your party for a long period of time. The common and even the uncommon cards will be the first to get replaced as you get more powerful cards.
If you have not yet completed the Initiates’ hall, go back and finish it even if you have already figured out everything about how the game works. Completing the Initiates’ Hall bingo card will net you HUGE rewards, such as free silver tokens that will allow you to draw uncommon and rare cards. Each line that you complete on the card earns you gold tokens, which are even more likely to earn you rare and super rare cards.
Any time that a limited time event happens, participate in it to the maximum degree possible. These events are one of your top methods of getting rare, superior rare and ultra rare cards.
So many people get so many rare cards, though, that you shouldn’t even attempt battling with all of your rare cards before you enhance them, though. Enhance them as close to the maximum level as possible, and constantly go back to the card assemble menu, and auto-set your lineup again once you get new cards, so that the game can automatically pick out the most powerful cards for your party.
When you have so many medals that it no longer becomes possible to hold all of your cards, start progressing through the quests again in order to try to earn a quest progress bonuses that increases your total available card slots. You can earn these through collection bonuses, too.
