Quadropus Rampage is a wacky roguelike for the iPhone and Android, starring a four legged octopus (hence the name) and his pet starfish, as well as a cast of other wacky characters. Quadropus Rampage surprisingly is one of the best roguelikes to come out on the mobile platforms. It’s funny as hell, it’s extremely addictive, and there’s a ton to accomplish in it. It starts off easy but it can get difficult very quickly, so read on for some tips and tricks for Quadropus Rampage!
The simplest method of getting as far as you can is to employ the “hit and run” method. Don’t just charge in and attack enemies with no plan or you’ll get killed quickly. Dash in and attack, and then retreat, using the ink squirt maneuver if you have to in order to get away. To make it easier to do this, pick up weapons which increase your movement speed as they drop.
You can’t keep your level ups once you die, so if you want to increase your stats permanently, there are two methods. Spend your gold on upgrades (and your doubloons later on). Also, unlock the various masteries. Go to the masteries menu to find out what you have to do to unlock them. Unlock the easiest ones first. For example, fall off of ledges over and over again until you hit 25 falls to unlock the “Unbalanced” mastery.
Once you unlock a mastery, you can then choose a new skill or perk that will be permanent. Normally, whichever one you choose will be a big help, but pick wisely and be sure of your choice before you choose it. Complete masteries as quickly as possible and with enough of them you’ll practically be invincible.
Use the smash wisely, by running (or simply walking) in circles until you attract the entire crowd of enemies around you. Then, after they’re all close together, use the smash and take them all out at the same time. Upgrade the smash to make this even more effective, even in the deeper depths.
Finally, look for free doubloons in the stages as you go. Destroy the various corals and rocks and other debris to find bonuses, because free doubloons can fall out of them, as well as drop after you defeat an enemy.
