To add to what was previously written, if you run out of room in your territory, you can also expand your territory. Doing so requires you to be at least at level 5, and you will spend 8000 of each resource. Unlike most games, the price never goes up with each subsequent expansion; it always stays the same.

Almost everything you do in this game completes a quest for you. Go to the quest menu, and you can see what quests you have available to you to complete, as well as which ones have rewards that are ready to be claimed. Resources, jewels, friendship points and experience points, as well as card pack tickets, are the usual prizes. If your claiming of a resource prize would put you over the maximum amount of resources you can get, then the game will warn you before you accept it. If you still accept the reward, your resource (this applies to gold, ether or iron) will default to the maximum you can have.

The meat of the game is in the battles area. Here you can select mainly from the Chronicle and the Duel mode. Chronicle is your “quest” mode, in that you get to progress through levels, earn prizes and fight battles against enemies, bosses and archwitches. Each time you tap the “Advance” button you use up some of your vitality (which regenerates over time or when you gain an experience level), but you fill the progress bar. Once the progress bar is filled to 100 percent, you can then move on to the next stage on the map.

As you go you will battle against normal enemies, bosses (at the end of each stage and each castle) and archwitches (which are different depending on what event is going on). Your character will have a certain amount of soldiers, which function as hit points, and each time you get hit by the enemy, you’ll lose soldiers. One soldier costs 2 ether, 2 iron, and 2 gold, which is why it’s VERY important to continually load up on resources.

In addition, having more soldiers will cause your attacks to be more powerful. You can attack manually by tapping the attacking card followed by the card that you want to attack, or you can set the battle to autopilot. In addition, if a card flashes, that means its special skill attack is available. You can use it, and it will immediately be your turn again afterwards. Before the battle, you can tap on the “Skills” button to see what all is available to your current attack crew.
