Once you complete the initial tutorial battles, you will be able to pick out battles. First, pick a chapter (the first one being the H.A.M.M.E.R. prologue), and then your initial list of battles will pop up. Tap on one battle to select it and to see how many rewards you can earn. Tap it again to see the mission briefing, the list of enemies, and which rewards you’ll have a chance at winning, then tap either “Play Mission” or “Replay Mission” to play it (depending on if it’s a mission that you have played before).
Rewards can consist of new hero covers, Iso-8 (the main currency of the game), or even Hero Points (the premium currency of the game). In addition, whenever you complete a mission for the first time, you’ll earn a separate reward, which is usually Iso-8. New hero covers allow you to use a hero in battle, although you can’t use duplicate heroes in battle.
Under “Train” you have the option to train your heroes by either upgrading their powers, training a new power or raising their level. All three options cost Iso-8 – powers usually cost 200 Iso-8 a pop, while raising a hero’s level all the way costs one Iso-8 per experience point that they need. A hero’s maximum level goes up by one every time that you train one of their powers.
Go to the collections screen to check out all of your hero cards. Tap one of them and you’ll be able to scroll through the details of the character, including the type of cover, the rarity of the character, the original cover art, all statistics (such as powers, health, and damage), and a small biography of the character.
From this screen, you can even sell a cover, which earns you a certain amount of Iso-8 depending on how rare the cover is and what experience level your cover is at. Common covers, for example, will earn you 100 Iso-8 for selling them, or 200 if the hero has been level up to level 2. You can even sell your original Iron Man cover, if you want to.
