Backyard Monsters Unleashed is a brand-new reverse tower defense strategy game for iOS and Android. This game is the sequel to the original Backyard Monsters, which was a huge hit when it came out on Facebook over three years ago and it was the original game of this genre. Just like in the previous game, your goal is to build up your backyard base, gather twigs, goo, putty, and pebbles, as well as shiny, use them to train up a wide variety of monsters, and use your monsters to raid, attack, loot, and destroy other players’ bases. Read on for some tips and tricks for Backyard Monsters Unleashed!
You start the game with protection from attacks by other players so use your protection time wisely. Upgrade your town hall and build and upgrade all of your resource buildings. Max out the number of resource buildings and silos on your base. To unlock more, continue upgrading the Town hall.
Start using your monster locker to unlock monsters as quickly as possible, and to upgrade the monsters that you already have. Upgrades to Pokey are especially useful, because even though Pokey is your entry-level monster, he can do a surprising amount of damage, especially in large numbers. He also takes up the least housing space out of any of the monsters, and takes by far the shortest amount of time to train in your hatchery.
Pay attention to which advantages each monster has before you send them in.
For example, send in boomer to take out walls, then send in scorchion to take out enemy defense towers from a distance. Then, send in bolt, because he will go after resource buildings first and foremost. If you just want to do a quick battle and don’t care if you win or lose, send in a bunch of bolts to go for the resources. Also, use Pokey to take out the booby-traps and heavy traps that might be hidden around the stage, because he’s cheap, making him very expendable.
Any time that you see a mushroom on your map, have your builders search them. Usually, your builders won’t find anything after they pick the mushrooms, but every so often, they will find you some free shiny. Even though it’s not much shiny, it will add up over time if you keep checking the mushrooms.
Move your buildings as soon as you possibly can. Place them as close together as absolutely possible, so that the maximum amount of buildings is in range of your defensive towers, such as your sniper towers and Tesla Towers. This also makes it easier to surround every building in your yard with walls. Always maximize the number of defensive towers in your backyard, and place them fairly evenly around the yard so that you can get a strong defense from all sides.
