5) Organize your heroes effectively so that they can play a sound defense in the arena.
You should have at least five heroes, because five is the maximum that you can deploy as attackers or defenders in the arena. Spread them out evenly, and if you have multiple rare heroes, put your rarest ones in. After a hero hits level 20, upgrade it in the heroes’ altar to keep the level ups coming. Stronger heroes means that you can more easily fight off other players, thus increasing your rank even when you are not playing the game actively.
4) When raiding other players’ bases, skip the ones that don’t look like immediate wins.
Signs for an easy raid include: no walls, less army camps than you, and less hero camps than you. Tread lightly or take magic into the ones that look to be around the same strength level as you, or if a player’s base looks disproportionately strong, pay the small bit of gold and skip to the next base.
3) Keep the Gold and Mana flowing from your own base.
No matter how strong of an attacker you are, or how strong of a defender, maximize your gold mines, your mana mills, and your vaults, and upgrade them as high as you can. It’s always best to wake up, turn on the app, then have a full load to collect. This can start you off on the right foot especially when your whole army got killed overnight by opposing players.
2) Get three stars on the dungeons (especially the skull dungeons) to earn more hero shards.
Hero shards are exceedingly rare, even moreso than diamonds are, but you can earn them via the skull dungeons, which are extra-tough. Send the hugest army and the biggest batch of heroes that you can into the skull dungeons, and do 100 percent damage to earn the three stars and the biggest rewards.
1) Load up on the free gems/treasure using the tasks in the “Earn Gems” screen.
This is under the tab that looks like a Christmas present. There will be a ton of quests that can earn you free gems, as well as a link to all of the active events, and even in-app purchase bonuses that are going on at the time.
