Cabela’s Big Game Hunter (iOS/Android) Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter is a long running hunting game series that started off in the arcades, moved to the consoles and now, finally, makes a debut on iOS and Android. This hunting series, sponsored by the clothing company that supplies your in-laws’ Christmas gifts, puts you against your game with all sorts of weapons, and this incarnation is no different. You can even set up post-taxidermy versions of your hunted animals in your very own trophy room. Read on for some tips and tricks for Cabela’s Big Game Hunter, the mobile version!

You have almost an unlimited amount of stages to play in the game, and loads of different tasks, three per stage. Eventually, though, when you run out of stars to earn at the time, you’ll need to buy new weapons, and if you don’t you can’t play the stage. Go to any other stage, even if you don’t have the weapon for it, play over and over, and load up on the cash. It’ll be a slow process, but gradually you’ll earn enough for new weapons.

Do this on the newest stage that you can though so that you can earn more experience points, thus making your energy expenditure worth it. Once your energy runs out, you have to wait for it to come back unless you want to spend energy for nothing.

You will earn more experience points too, which you need in order to level up. Leveling up will not only get you an instant energy refill, but it will also increase your energy capacity and enable you to unlock new stages.

Once you become a good enough shot, you won’t even need to go to the scope. Practice shooting without the scope as this will allow you to aim, point and shoot FAR more quickly.

Battling against game that fights back is especially tough, because chances are, they will kill you before you kill them unless you have a good enough weapon or can dodge and block well enough. Always pick the weapon that will allow you to do the most damage yet to move the quickest (bows and arrows are good for this because of the lack of recoil and high damage). Aim and fire as quickly as possible until they’re dead.

To hit a lung shot, simply shoot towards the animal’s chest – their lungs are big. To hit a heart shot, though, aim toward the bottom of their chest just behind their front legs (if looking sideways). It’s easier to hit the heart shot from behind as opposed to front or side. The better your scope the easier the shot, so upgrade your rifles as soon as possible.
