Monster Legacy – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Monster Legacy is a brand new free-to-play RPG for the iOS platform, and is coming soon for Android as well. It’s a Pokemonesque experience, in that you play as a monster trainer, with the goal being to catch ’em all. Unlike most mobile RPGs, it has a console-esque exploration mechanic, and even a bit of city-building with your ranches. Read on for some tips and tricks for Monster Legacy!

The most important thing in battle is to match element against element. Fire is strong against earth, which is strong against wind, which is strong against water, which is strong against fire. Remember this and you’ll have a fairly easy time winning most battles, as long as you keep a good variety of monsters with you.

You’ll have to level them up, though, in order to keep up. Unlike in games such as Pokemon and Monster Galaxy, all of your monsters don’t automatically gain experience even when they aren’t used in battle. Experience is divided up based on how many turns each monster takes in battle. So if only one monster is used, only one monster gains experience. If your first monster is used for one turn and your second for a total of three turns, then your second monster will earn 3x more experience than your first one.

Explore everything that you can in this game. Jars, chests, glowing lights and other objects can earn you coins or energy, while bushes often hold monsters that you can fight and catch.

If you run out of monsters to catch, build more ranches, which can be unlocked as you gain experience levels. Your ranches have different elements associated with them, and when a monster is in the ranch it recovers quicker when the ranch’s element matches your monster. For example, stick your earth monsters in the earth ranch. The keeper’s ranch (the original ranch) has no such advantages.

Free gems can be had fairly easily in this game. Go to the menu button in the lower left corner of the screen and tap the free gems button. Like and share the game on Facebook for 20 gems each – a total of 40 gems if you do both. Plus, you can earn loads of gems simply from leveling yourself up, leveling your monsters up, or earning more stars, so do all three of those and save up your rewards. Make sure to check in daily even if you’re not going to play to keep earning daily rewards, too.
