Song of Hero: Music RPG – Tips and Cheats: The Strategy Guide

Song of Hero: Music RPG is an extremely unique new role playing game for the iOS and Android. Most of the game stays pretty close to Brave Frontier and other hit mobile RPGs, but the important part, the battle system, is much closer to Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero, making for an EXTREMELY unique experience unlike anything else on any platform. Read on for some tips and tricks for Song of Hero: Music RPG!

If you’ve played DDR or Guitar Hero, the battles will come very easily, but otherwise, the rhythms can be tricky especially in the tougher battles. The main key is to not pay too much attention to lining up the notes exactly before you hit the corresponding buttons. Instead, listen to the song instead, and play with the beat of the song, or the rhythm of the instruments, depending on the genre of the song.

There are three main elemental types in this game: string (red), percussion (blue) and wind (green). Strings have an advantage over wind, wind is strong against percussion, and percussion is strong against string. The game will let you set three different bands, and if you auto-set them, you can choose which element to set them by, so it’s best to have one of each specific type of band, unless you have loads of rare characters who are of different types.

On each chapter, you’ll get different rewards depending on how many stars you get, and to get the maximum amount of stars, you have to score all perfects on every single stage, which amounts to playing over and over and over. Once you get all of the stars on one stage, though, you’ll earn free Cash (the game’s premium currency).

Battles go in phases. When you first start tapping, you’ll be playing defense against the monster. When fever mode hits, that’s when your hits will count toward damage, because that’s attack time. When the monster gets angry, the notes will come at double speed, making it tougher to see them (although they will be on the same rhythm).

If you are having trouble with tough battles, go to the band menu, go to manage, then upgrade and evolve your cards. Upgrades can be done by sacrificing any card for experience points, while evolution, which can only be done on a max-level card, can only be done with a specific set of instruments. Use the “set effect” menu as a guide for what parties to make that can earn you statistical bonuses – for example, all orchestra, all instructors or all latin musicians.
