dEXTRIS – Tips and Cheats: The Strategy Guide

dEXTRIS is a new endless puzzler game for the iOS and Android. Despite the name, dEXTRIS has no relation to Tetris. Instead, you have to go as far as you can while making the blocks move in the correct directions in order to avoid spikes and other obstacles for as long as you can. Read on for some tips and tricks for dEXTRIS!

You have four different ways to avoid the spikes, which are: move your blocks to the left, move them to the right, split them apart, or simply leave them in the middle of the screen. The key to the game is timely transitions. Watch out so that you don’t accidentally hit the spikes because you moved the blocks too soon, or blunder into a diamond because you didn’t move them quickly enough.

Every ten points, the pace of the game will speed up, so prepare for these constant changes in pace. Once you get them down, it becomes easier to work to a rhythm, but don’t get caught offguard or in a daze because you’re stuck so strongly to that rhythm that you miss a pace change, especially as you become more advanced in the game and go past 40-50 points and the speed really becomes a beast.

There are two types of diamonds that pop up – the bigger ones and the smaller ones. The bigger ones absolutely require that you split your blocks apart in order to pass them. However, the smaller ones can be passed by moving both of your blocks to the left or to the right, as well.

At any point in time you can go to Game Center and check out the high scores in this game. Surprisingly, only one of them appears to be a hacked score, but if a bunch of hacks pop up, then scroll past them to the scores that look insane but realistic, as these will be the real top scores that you can measure yourself against.

Make sure to take a break every once in awhile. The longer you play without taking a break, the more frustrated you will become, but after taking a break, you’ll come back to the game without that agitated adrenaline rush, but with that extra experience at the game built up inside of your head, allowing you to immediately perform far better than you previously did.
