World Soccer Striker is a goofy arcade-style soccer game for the iOS platform. Your goal in this game is to pick one out of the four game modes, and win matches of two dimensional, one on one soccer against other teams and their players (or sole player, as it were), going from team to team to rack up win after win. You can buy upgrades along the way, too, in order to maximize your chances of winning. Read on for some tips and tricks for World Soccer Striker!
Use every trick at your disposal in the pursuit of scoring more goals and of stopping the opposing player from scoring. One of the tricks that the tutorial doesn’t teach is the dash move, which is done by pushing the forward or backward button quickly, two times in a row. This allow you to dash behind or in front of the ball, rather than just dribble the ball when you run. This is easily the most useful maneuver in the game.
There’s more tricks and just all around sound moves as well. Stand on the ball and then hit kick to send it flying at extreme speed. Dribble the ball by running towards it. Use your head for a softer hit into the goal and use your kicks for a harder hit. Use carom shots – kick the ball off of space above the goal and then use your head to knock it in.
Use your power shot to launch a special attack. Be aware that every team has a different power shot, each with varying degrees of usefulness. To block the other team’s power shot, all that you need to do is to be in front of the ball at any point before it hits the goal, so that it hits you instead. This space will be different depending on what attack is used, so the first time the other player uses their power move, pay attention to figure out where you should stand.
If the ball ends up behind your rival, use their own body to push the ball into the goal. Push and push and push and let the ball roll behind them. Let the ball get momentum, then start kicking them to prevent them from dashing backwards to get behind the ball.
Purchase all kinds of power ups and upgrades to get a better shot at winning. The standard upgrades flash on the screen before each round, so they are fairly obvious. Pay attention, though, when the costume upgrades flash on the screen. These enable you to gain extra statistics AND change the appearance of your team. Generally, the more expensive the costume, the better the boost that you will get from it.
