Read on for some tips and tricks for Rise of Rome!

Unlike in most games, where you gain experience levels by battling, your overall level is increased merely by upgrading the city hall in this game. Upgrade it as quickly as you can to begin the game – the more you upgrade it, the faster you’ll unlock buildings in your city, colonies, and other features that are locked to begin with.

Battling is done automatically, it’s the managing of your army that’s your responsibility. Your characters don’t level up from battling, so you have to train them instead. Maximize your training halls, first off, and maximize their upgrade levels, then set your characters to train for as long as possible. Switch them out every so often to keep them trained up equally, and spend gold if you want to in order to increase the speed of training.

Want some free gold? Go to the in app purchase store and then at the bottom right corner of the screen you will see a “free gold” button. Tap it and an offer wall will pop up. Complete as many offers as you wish in order to load up on the free gold.

Want to get stronger in battle? Upgrade your equipment. That’s the way to do it. You’ll need to upgrade the blacksmith first, because your equipment can only equal the maximum level of your blacksmith. Also, you can only do ten upgrades at a time before a cooldown period is required. But not only will this cause your equipment statistics to skyrocket, you’ll also be able to have more troops at one time.

Don’t forget to do research, as well. Your first priority should be to upgrade your formations, because as you do this, you’ll be able to send more heroes into battle at a time. Neglect this and you’ll find yourself with a bunch of useless heroes.
