Don’t get rid of any of the non-player cards that you get. Each player is on a contract, so when they run out or are about to run out of matches left you are going to have to use a card on them to keep them. Consumable training cards provide a boost during games, such as increasing a player’s energy or a specific statistic.
Where the energy boosting cards especially help is in the quick simulation mode, because they allow you to set your team to be as aggressive as you want to make them. Just make sure to keep an eye on everyone’s energy so that you can boost it as needed.
There are many classifications of cards – there are bronze, silver and gold, plus rare versions of each (shiny versions). The best cards of all are the Team of the Week cards. To find them, look for them in packs or in the transfer market. Or play the tournament of the week and you have a chance at winning one of the players from the team of the week if you do well enough in the tournament.
Increasing the chemistry of your team can be done by methods other than matching the correct nationalities of the players. They can also be matched either by team, or by being in the same league. Playing on the same team gives the biggest boost in chemistry, followed by league and nationality. Chemistry is denoted by green lines, orange lines or red lines linking players with green being the best.
The color of the boot in the boot position is similar. If you have to play someone out of position, check the foot icon’s color to see if it’s a good idea or not. A red foot will indicate that the player isn’t good at that position, a green boot indicates that they like that position and an orange boot is somewhere in between.
If you want to play as a real team for a change, check out the games of the week and you will be able to do just that. These are specially selected match-ups of real teams from whatever league you chose to be in. They’ll also give you a good idea of what players to look for in the transfer markets.
