Pokemon TCG Online (iPad) – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Pokemon TCG Online is the latest version of the online Pokemon TCG game, itself based off of the card game that has enraptured millions and millions of fans the world over. Your goal in this game is to do exactly as you would do in the real life version, which is to beat other players and computer controlled players using a combination of a killer deck and excellent battle strategy. Read on for some tips and tricks for Pokemon TCG Online!

One of the most annoying things about the game is its tendency to reset itself during the tutorial (the other is when it freezes during the tutorial). To remedy the first one, all that you have to do is set your iPad’s hibernation mode to off so that if you get sidetracked you will be able to come back to the game without having a reset happen. Either that, or just ignore everything else and finish it first.

There are literally millions of ways that you can build a deck. In general, it is best to have around 20 Pokemon, 25 Trainers and 15 energy cards; however, change it up as you see fit, because there are plenty of different ways to mix up the deck. Change up the ratio of trainers to Pokemon to energy cards as you see fit.

Keep your team to the least amount of types possible, while still having the types be effective against as many opposing types as you can. For example, build your deck out of fighting and psychic types, or out of water and electric types, or out of fire and grass types. Add in no-type Pokemon in high numbers so that you can use them to fill out a deck and snipe off any types that you may miss or that somehow happen to be effective against both of your main deck types.

Pay attention to what the champion deck builders are doing and do as they do. When in doubt, be like the best until you figure it out enough that you can start making changes of your own, modifying decks to be even stronger than your current ones, and even more strategically effective. Most importantly, get to know your deck.

Be sure to find the trainers and Pokemon that allow you to pull cards back up from the discard pile. Also, keep healing trainers (potions etc) on hand so that you can use them to restore health and prolong any battle that you end up in. The longer you draw a battle out, the higher your chance of making an opponent default into losing based on using up all of their cards.
