Cars: Fast as Lightning – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Cars: Fast as Lightning is a new racing and city-building game by Disney for the iOS, Android and Windows platforms. You play as a brand new car who has happened upon Radiator Springs, and like your hero Lightning McQueen, your goal is to work your way up to being the number one racer in the town, beating everyone from Mater to Lightning himself. Read on for some tips and tricks for Cars: Fast as Lightning!

This game has a very simple one-touch method of gameplay. All that you have to do is time everything right. Tap and hold the gas pedal about a quarter second before the race begins in order to get the optimal speed when you’re starting, as opposed to spinning out. Hold the gas pedal except in the tight turns, when you let go, and then put your finger on the gas immediately again.

Other parts of the stage will require you to take your finger off as well, such as a jump. Take your finger off before the jump, and then put your finger back on the gas right before you land. Take your finger off when going into an extremely tight corner and you’ll do a trick, such as grinding the rail. Put your finger back on in the middle of a green circle and you’ll get a free speed boost.

You can buy stuff with coins, and to get coins you have to collect from the buildings in Radiator Springs. Build as many coin-producing buildings as you can possibly fit in the city, because (with few exceptions) no matter how much money you put into it, you’ll make it back really quickly with all of the coin collecting.

Spend your coins on tuning up your racer. Unlike most racing games you only have one single way to upgrade your car, which is simply to go to the garage and give your car a tune up. This takes a few minutes to finish – don’t spend your gems on speeding that up because it’s not a long time at all. Just wait it out, and then if you have the coins to do so, upgrade it yet again. The higher the upgrade level, the better.

If you need to gain some experience and some extra coins, but you have to wait hours until your buildings are ready to harvest from, then simply race and race endlessly until you run out of gas. Spend on tune ups until you have no more coins left, unless you are trying to save them for future purchases of other cars/characters in the game.
