Loot Raiders is a new RPG for the iPhone and iPad. The gameplay, which is very text-driven, can remind old school gamers of their Dungeons and Dragons days, or perhaps of 8-bit and 16-bit first person RPGs that were heavy on the text (Eye of the Beholder or Sword of Vermillion, anyone?). Read on for some tips and tricks for Loot Raiders!
After each quest that you play, you earn (as the title of the game hints at) loot. Hit the “compare” button to see the stats of the loot that you just earned compared to the loot that you have already equipped (weapons, shields, etc). If it’s weaker, then sell it. If it’s stronger, then equip it. Typically stuff with a colored background will be stronger/rarer.
The shop area is a great place to attempt to sell equipment that you don’t need because you can auction it off, meaning that you can earn a whole lot of money off of it if it’s rare. If it’s not rare or particularly desirable, then still expect to see more money from this area than you would from simply selling it back to the game.
When buying equipment in the shop, make sure to search by what type and level of item you are looking for. You can always scroll through the different pieces of equipment and see the various rarities. Blue is rare, purple is epic, orange is legendary and red is fabled.
Pick a mission based on how long you plan to currently continue playing. For example, if you are about to go to bed, pick a mission that takes 8 hours (or some other long period of time) to complete so that you can wake up to a whole bunch of loot and experience points and gold. If you are playing actively, then pick the missions which complete instantly, or as close to instantly as possible.
If you are connected to Facebook and you have friends who play the game, use their characters to help; otherwise, go to the App Store reviews page or Facebook fan pages if you want to find people who play the game. Also, pay attention to what levels you unlock new equipment slots at, so that you don’t fall behind on your equipment loadout.
