Mr Jump – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Mr Jump is a new platformer for the iOS platform that can only be described as Nintendo Hard on steroids. It seems like a simple enough proposition at first – an auto-running platformer similar to the Atari game Pitfall, where your only goal is to avoid the obstacles and to jump the right distance to make it over the gaps. Read on for some tips and tricks for Mr Jump!

Your jump can be either really short, really long, or anywhere in between, depending on how long you hold the screen for after you tap it to jump. Be sure to hold it for a short time for short gaps, for jumping down to a platform at a lower elevation, or jumping over little spikes. Jumping long distance or up to a higher platform will require you to hold the screen down for longer after you jump.

It doesn’t really matter too much how many attempts you make on one level, as long as you beat it eventually. Take as many turns as you want; however, if you want to reset your attempt count, delete the game and then reinstall it and your attempts will be reset. Your high scores are not based on that count, though, so there is not too much point in doing that.

Instead, your high scores are based on your percentage count for each stage added together. That’s why if you go to Game Center, all of the highest scores are 1,200 – because there are 12 stages, times 100 percent for each stage, so this is your benchmark. Ignore the handful of scores up top that are in the billions and millions, because there are merely hacked score and are eventually going to get deleted from Game Center.

If you want to get rid of the ads, all that you have to do is set the phone or tablet that you are playing on into airplane mode, or play the game without any cellular data and/or WiFi. I don’t recommend doing that with this game though as the developer is an indie studio, a small studio whose income depends on these ads, and whose ability to update the game and make more games depends on the ads.

If you want to skip over a level that you have yet to beat, you can purchase the level after it for 99 cents. You can do this for any level, although if you can’t beat one level, chances are you are not going to be able to beat the level that comes after it, due to how much the difficulty tends to increase from level to level. It’s recommended to beat the levels in order for this reason.
