World of Warcraft back up to 7.4 million subscribers
Though Activision Blizzard's quarterly earnings call isn't for another month, Blizzard has released their latest subscriber numbers a little early. As of October 14, World of Warcraft sits at 7.4 million subscribers, up 600,000 from their previously reported 6.8 million. Warlords of Draenor's impending release is having an effect -- players are finding a renewed interest in the game. More than ever, it's clear that the long wait between content releases is Warcraft's worst enemy. If you build it, they'll come. But in the meantime, they'll have fun somewhere else.
brings improved character models today
Blizzard is ready to step into Warlords of Draenor, thanks to the new 6.0.2 patch that sets the stage for World of Warcraft's latest expansion. However, Blizzard isn't just adding a new world event and tweaking classes. It's changing the very look of WoW by revamping the game's character models with better resolution and whole new animation.
Those that log into World of Warcraft after today's patch will notice new and improved looks for each of game's races. That includes Dwarves, Gnomes, Humans, Night Elves, Orcs, Taurens, Trolls, Undead, and Draenei all getting increased texture resolution and more expressive facial animations.
Players will also find a new world event called 'Iron Horde Incursion,' which sees parties venturing to the Blasted Lands to face the incoming Iron Horde. The event will feature a five-player instance of a revamped Upper Blackrock Spire dungeon Other balance tweaks and quality of life improvements have also been tossed in .
WoW Moviewatch: Top 5 Heroes in World of Warcraft
Sure, the World of Warcraft has plenty of villains, but there are plenty of heroes, too. And since without heroes, we probably wouldn't have much of an Azeroth at this point, I'm sure we're all pretty glad that Warcraft's heroic figures have stuck around. So to balance out his earlier video on villains, Doronsmovies has put together a list of the top 5 heroes in World of Warcraft.
The list itself is debatable -- we've all got our favorite heroes, and a top 5 list doesn't have room for everyone -- but it does offer a nice look at some of the heroes of Azeroth and their lore. Have favorite heroes that didn't make the cut? Let us know about them in the comments!
