In World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor, the Garrison Resources are needed for Garrsion building upgrades, work orders, missions, and trades. You may ignore the resources when you build and level up the first Garrison building and, but soon you will realize the importance of these resources and making a plan of farming some especially when you want to level up some building. 1. From Rares and Treasures.
There are a lot of rare mobs around Draenor. Like the MoP rares, you don have to be in a group to kill them, so if you see someone killing them jump right in and help out to get the rewards. Most of the rares will have garrison resources on them when you loot them. Unfortunately you can kill a rare mob only once. After you kill it the mob will not be rare anymore.

Draenor treasures - like the rare mobs, these treasures can contain garrison resources as well. Some of them are easy to get to and other requires a bit of planning.

2. From Garrison buildings. The Lumber Mill if the building designed for garrison resources. You can find more details about it and any other medium buildings, you can find out about the needed blueprints, and also read about the follower you can use for it. Logging wood around Draenor allows you to place work orders that reward you a bunch of resources. Adding a follower to your lumber mill will increase the gains. You can generate about 120 resources per day.

The Trading Post allows you to trade (work order) a random resource that changes daily for garrison resources. This is also a medium building and can generate about 180 resources per day.

The Sables (a large building) is another garrison building that will help a bit with the resources. There are six mounts you can train and the initial quest rewards 50 resources and the daily one 20 resources. You can also get 6 new mounts as well.

3. From your Garrison. Garrison Cache is a great source of Garrison Resources and yo can find it in your own garrison. Just check the minimal and look for that silver chest. It cost you nothing and the resources there are generated every hour. It can hold up to 500 Garrison Resources, so if you don't loot it for a day or two, you wont miss those valuable resources. It generates (at garrison level 3) 144 resources per day.

There are also some resources buried around your garrison. Look for the little dirt mounds around your garrison. Or use the addon we recommend at the bottom of this guide.

If you dive in your fishing pond you'll also find a chest with a few resources.Follower Missions may also reward resources. These missions are great because they wont cost you any resources at all. If you have a follower with Scavenger trait, the rewarded resources are tripled.

4. From other sources. While leveling you'll stumble over these quests and even if you wont complete all the Draenor quests before reaching level 100, you might want to take a look over the quests you have missed to make sure you haven't missed any quest that rewards those precious garrison resources.

Your alts - even if you cant trade the resources between characters, you can use your alts to farm materials needed for the work orders. Keeping those work orders queues going is a great and constant way of generating resources.
