After all, in Starcraft 2 Protoss is probably the hottest looking and the most powerful race there is! They’re highly technologically advanced and they have the skill to use psionic powers, so who wouldn’t want to play them. Be aware: by the “strongest”, I don’t really mean that they are technically stronger than the Zerg and Terran in a real game but according to the Starcraft 2 lore given by Blizzard, they’re the most powerful specie in the game!
With this Starcraft 2 Protoss tutorial, I am going to educates you on all the characteristics regarding Protoss and also some elementary techniques. This is not gonna be an advanced Starcraft 2 guides in places you will learn tactics, methods, or build orders as there are plenty of additional guides for that. Anyway allow us to get into some of the characteristics of Protoss.
Protoss Features:
Strong Units: Protoss has got the strongest units of the three races; they have high attack power that deals massive damages to their oppositions. Having said that, all that strength does not come at low costs which I’ll explain later.
Expensive and also Long Production Units: One of the biggest negative areas of Protoss is that their armies are too expensive and also needs a long time to produce when compared to the other two races.
Force Fields: Another characteristic which is unique towards the Protoss race is their capability to use psionic power. And one of its unique benefits is that it enables every Protoss unit as well as structures to have a magical force field which absorbs additional damages.
Warp-In: Protoss also have one more special ability that permits them to warp-in selective units into the battleground via psionic matrix, which are produced by either a circle of Pylons or a phase prism via the use of Warp Prism.
The Basic Principles of Protoss Tactics:
The simplest way to strategize any Protoss tactics is to specialize or in another word to become as narrow as it can be in terms of the different upgrades and units which are needed to win the game. The reason being is because such as I mentioned earlier, Protoss has very expensive units and structures. So if you were to go too diverse in terms of unit make up you’ll run out of money or resources before you reach a considerable army.
The next thing to know is when it comes to employing any build orders or strategies for the Protoss would be to remember that you must have a good balance involving spending both of your gas and minerals. So as an example if you are planning for a heavy gas build like Colossus and Phoenix build, then you must change things up with charged Zealots.
