Texas Holdem - How To Start Out In The Poker World

Imagine playing a card game for a living? Well with the game Texas Holdem on such an up-rise this is quite possible. like anything though it is going to take a lot of time and patience. In this article I am going to explain the ups and downs of Texas Holdem. Some people make a very wealthy living off this game but others can financially ruin themselves. Let me explain how to approach the game of Texas Holdem.

When you first start out in the poker world its needless to say that you probably wont start out making a ton of money. What you need to do first is set an exact amount of money that you can spare each week and ONLY play with that. Start off in the smaller cash games first just to get your feet wet. If you notice that your money is starting to pile up and you are not losing your money every week then its evident that you are ready for some higher stake games. If you find yourself losing your set amount every week then just keep practicing in the lower cash games until your skills are higher and your confidence goes up, this way you are not putting yourself in a hole financially.

You cant always win in poker so i strongly recommend that when you lose your money set aside for the week then STOP playing until next week, this is how a lot of people get in trouble and start playing the game with emotion and that is not were you want to be, trust me. I suggest you keep your own poker account and only put X amount in that account each month. Example: $200.00 a month. Once that's gone then wait until next month. If your at say $500.00 for the month then you have definitely got some poker skill and should have no problem playing for bigger payouts.

As you play Texas Holdem your going to encounter one of the toughest things about the game, and that is "bad beats". If this term is unfamiliar to you then let me give you an example of a "bad beat". EX: Your starting hand consists of Ace,Ace and your opponents hand is Ace,King. you decide to go ALL IN pre-flop and your opponent CALLS. The flop comes out Jack,Nine,Six(diff suits),you're still in a dominating position so things look good. But then the turn and river come out King,King and you lose to a 3 of a kind when you played the hand perfect, now that is a bad beat. This happens to everyone and in my experience everything will even themselves out the more you play, which is why this game can be ANYONE'S game. There are plenty professionals that can help your game get to the top so you can be making money in no time.

In conclusion, if you keep your poker playing on a budget and do not get discouraged from "bad beats" then I think you will be able to easily and enjoyably start playing texas holdem in the poker online world. Build yourself up and get to thos tables!
