Anyone who has spent any length of time playing online games understands the importance of a great headset. I, myself, am a very avid World of Warcraft player. This in particular game can and most of the time requires long hours grinding out a level or trying to conquere that new raid boss. Whatever the case may be you can expect to be sitting in one location smashing your keyboard and listening to the game environment for hours on end, which leads us to the communication aspect of the game. When trying to progress through the newest or old content depending on your skill level there is a very high chance you and your friends or guildies will be using ventrilo to communicate. I can't stress the importance of clear communication when it comes to progression in most online games. So with all of this in mind let us embark on a quest ourselves to find that perfect headset.
First, we need to classify what makes a headset great. It should have excellent sound reproduction, a high-quality microphone, good sound-processing features, and a comfortable design. Also the individual using the headset has to like it's weight, feel, and cosmetics. Another thing to look for is the company putting out the hardware, how long have they been around? Do they put out other headsets? Are they known for a good product? Do they have a good warranty policy? These are all good questions to have answered and features to look for before deciding on a headset.
So when I, myself, tackled each of these concerns I landed on what I think is one of the greatest headsets on the market today. The Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Headset hits a home run when we look at all of the above questions and features we should be looking for when choosing a headset. When it comes to sound reproduction, HQ mic, sound-proccessing features, and comfortability this headset gets atleast a 9/10 in my book. The weight on the headset is very minimal for the size of the hardware while not feeling flimsy or cheap. Cosmetically it's amazing especially if your a World of Warcraft fan due to its WoW theme and interchangable CAN plates featuring either Horde or Alliance Faction (Alliance for the win *Cough*). What about the company you might ask? Well here is where we put the cherry on top and hand you a spoon, Creative has been around since 1981 and is the worlds leader for digital entertainment products for the personal computer. They have tons of other headsets and are very well known for putting out a solid product. They offer a 12 month warranty program as well as online technical support for their products.
Overall Creative's Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Headset is a great choice for any gamers who plan on spending any length of time on their computers. I would recommend that you do a little digging yourself as even this headset has more features then I listed here today. Good luck and have fun.
