The Ear Force X42 surround sound processor seems to give your gaming experience an immersive 3-dimensional feeling and another added feature is the range that it will operate at compared to the x41 and when it comes to the end of its range it just fades out with no more crackling or distorted, fuzzy noises.

Setting up your headset is relatively easy if you have an up to date HDTV.

It comes complete with a digital optical cable which allows you to connect your transmitter to the TV along with a USB connector for your system. You will have to order an A/V cable dongle from Turtle Beach if you have an older TV which can be a problem if you are not aware of this fact when you purchase you Ear Force X42 Headset. If for some reason you find you are out of sync with the game then there is a sync button on the head set but it should doe this automatically

A big advantage with this latest model of the Turtle Beach Ear Force X42 gaming headset in my opinion is the much improved battery life of approximately 25% using the batteries that are supplied with the headset and also you get a warning beep when the batteries are getting low instead of the screeching sound from the previous model.
