Play The Sims, Live An Alternate Life!

Are you bored of a mediocre life but don't know how to break the monotony? I can't show you a fool proof way of getting your fream life but I can show you a way to live an alternate life. Play the Sims 1! I know it's not real but let me tell you, it sure takes a lot of stress out of my life. I've always used games to 'escape' when I feel bored or need a break from work and the one game that has always made me happy is The Sims 1 - with all its expansions.

Live an alternate virtual life

In the Sims 1, you play a character which you can create yourself or pick any default one in the game. Direct your character's life in its everyday tasks from bathing to going on a vacation. It's a really nice to live an alternate virtual life as you work towards yours in reality. It is highly addictive and proves to sometimes be as difficult as juggling tasks in reality. What with the limited hours in a day, you have to really organize your day from the time you wake up or you'll miss your carpool to work or the kids will miss their school bus!

Throw parties and socialize

With the House Party and Hot Date expansion packs, your interactions with the other Sims become more varied. You get to throw a successful party (I only managed to do that once) and have Drew Carey appear at your house to entertain your guests or fail and get a mime instead. Keeping your social life afloat in The Sims 1 is really difficult but the Hot Date let's you bring one friend of yours downtown so you can wine and dine that character. Having friends is essential to climbing the career ladder in the game so be sure to bring your friends downtown once in a while to keep the friendship bar high.

Go on a holiday or have a pet

With the Vacation expansion pack, your Sim and family can get away on a vacation and enjoy some fun quality time together. Personally, I don't really like to send my Sim on a vacation as it's really difficult to keep all the need bars green. I prefer going to the Old Town and adopting a dog or a cat to accompany me at home. Disciplining your Sim pet is as tedious as training a real one! Altogether, it's really fun though and the mess they make don't actually stink. :)

Be a celebrity or a wizard

If you have Superstar and Makin' Magic, you can choose to either try to be the next Sim celebrity or a wizard. Both paths are fun to explore but like any other aspect in this game, the chores can be tedious and getting good in any career is difficult and takes time. However, since many of us can't be a superstar in reality and doing magic is impossible, playing the Sims 1 takes you as close as you can get to living your fantasy life.

So, if you're tired from your job or just tired with life, live an alternate life in the Sims 1! You are guaranteed hours of fun and a great stress reliever. Be as sadistic or as caring as you want to your Sim, and put a smile on your face by playing this classic Maxis game.
