Car Games

Let’s take a few moments to talk about the car games flash gaming niche. As in any niche, car games can be broken down into a number of different categories. For the purposes of this article let’s list them as Disney Pixar’s Cars games, racing games, parking games, 3D games, and driving games. Each one of these categories has something unique to contribute to the niche as a whole and can be enjoyed by just about anyone. Let’s go ahead and discuss each category by defining them and possibly giving some fun examples of them!

First off is Disney Pixar’s Cars games. These are games based off of the popular feature films that we have all come to love. These are usually high quality games that take small parts of the movies with everyone’s favorite characters to give you fun objectives or tasks to complete to win. There are two really fun games that come to mind here. One is a game where Lightning McQueen is stuck in a ravine, and the player uses Mater’s towing winch to fish him out and save the day. Another game has the player drive Lightning McQueen through a field scaring tractors and running from Frank the combine. There are other games that have colorful puzzles of movie posters or pictures of the characters from the movie that you can color and print.

Then there are of course racing games. This is probably the most common type of car games out there. What the games in this category have in common are pretty obvious: the player races other cars. However, there are some attributes that set these games apart from one another. Some are simply side-scroll racers while others use a top-down view. Some have boosts, and others have obstacles to watch out for. The best ones, though, usually allow you to earn money to upgrade or buy a new car. The player gets to unlock new, more challenging tracks and obtain achievements. So one can see that there are many different kinds of racing games to find and play online!

Parking games on the other hand are very cut and dry. One could dare to say that they always have a top-down or birdseye view, and you usually utilize the arrow keys on your keyboard to control the car that you are attempting to park. You have to park the car while being timed without bumping it into too many obstacles. The only real difference in any of these car games in this category is what kind of cars you are supposed to park. These games could get old pretty fast.

3D car games are usually just a different type of racing game. Obviously they are 3D instead of 2D. The camera is usually behind the car, and the player moves from side to side to pass the other cars, get boost or money, or to dodge various obstacles. The landscape might be rural or urban, but there are hardly ever any hills; it’s almost always flat. Sometimes you don’t race, and your objective might be to destroy the other cars with some sort of weapon. Driving games is a category where games belong that basically don’t fit in the other ones above. They could include games with obstacle course where you have to survive as long as you can as you drive across rugged terrain or games where you do stunts or have to figure out how to make it through certain types of puzzles or other more destructive car games.
