Drawsome - 2nd Generation Wii Draw

Coming out in early Dec 2011 is the Wii Drawsome Tablet. I've already started reading the complaints. The complaints

are mostly centered on, "great we just bought the wii draw last year and now they are selling a new and improved

version?". I do understand where these people are coming from. But the reality is, technology advances faster

and faster every year, improvements are made. Look at how often a new and improve apple iPhone is released. Twice a

year?

Drawsome vs Wii Draw

The Wii Drawsome is small, its 6.5x5-inch vs the 9x7-inch draw. Is this an improvement? Why is it smaller? Well,

the reason has to do with the consumer Nintendo surveyed Wii Draw users and one thing they found is many users

suggested making the tablet smaller as an area of improvement.

The stylus (the pen) on the drawsome is wireless while the Wii draw was wired to the platform. Wow, thanks Wii now

we will lose the stylus and have to buy another? While that may be true, having a wireless stylus probably will give

the user a much more comfortable experience.

Drawsome - the biggest change

The ability to trace images. I am not an expert on the technology. There is transparent layer on the drawing area,

allowing users to trace images. This does seem like it would be a pretty cool feature. The Wii Draw does not have

this capability.

The Drawsome also includes two games, Drawsome Artist and Drawsome Sketch Quest. These two games are center around

art education, teaching advanced step by step art techniques. In the "Artist" game, the user gets to interact with

The Smurfs while learning how to draw and color these animated characters. In the "Sketch Quest" game the user

is taken to and races through a world of cute animals and obstacles. To be successful the user most get past

obstacles by drawing such things as bridges, trampolines and more. This game can be played solo or in two-player

mode.

Wii Complaints

Get it? Wii Complaints! You didn't think that was funny? I understand not everyone who just bought a Wii Draw is

going to be willing to purchase this new and improved Wii draw. Ten years ago it seemed every couple years a new

and improved product was launched. But nowadays, it seems as if every couple months a new version is released.

In your future technology purchases remember this technology is moving faster and faster, the next version will be

out before you can even take the old version out of the box. The Drawsome is a perfect example of this trend.
