One of the most rewarding classes to play in World of Warcraft is the Hunter. It can also be one of the most frustrating to play well if you are not optimizing your wow leveling spec.

Hunter's are blessed with three viable trees, Beast Mastery, Survival and Marksmanship. Any of the three can take a hunter from level 1 to level 85, but only one WoW leveling spec does it in the most efficient way.

Marksmanship

A WoW leveling build that specialize in the Marksmanship tree generates most of its damage by utilizing shots from the hunter. This makes perfect sense; you are after all, a marksman. The main issue with this choice is that the Hunter's pet does not generate as much aggro, also known as threat as the hunter him or herself. Once you unload on the bad guy it doesn't take long for you to pull the mob off of your pet and on to you. Because you can't shoot at a mob that is right on top of you, your damage-per-second drops and you take damage. You want the mob to be beating up your pet while you stand back and blast away.

Marksmanship is a great talen tree and an excellent WoW leveling spec for end-game raiding, but it doesn't lend itself well to the leveling up process.

Survival

A WoW leveling build that specializes in Survival also generates most of its damage through the actions of the Hunter and not his or her pet. Survival uses different shots and a different priority rotation than Marksmanship, but in the end, it is the Hunter and not his or her pet that is generating the most threat.

Beast Mastery

Beast Mastery, though not as viable as an end-game raiding spec is the best of the best when it comes to being a WoW leveling spec. A WoW leveling build specializing in the Beast Mastery tree focuses on your pet more than on you. Your pet receives a lot of bonuses to its health, damage and resistances. Your most used damage skill will be Kill Command which gives your pet a boost in damage. Your pet literally becomes a killing machine when you run a Beast Mastery wow leveling spec.

A Beast Mastery wow leveling build does away with the worry of the Hunter gaining threat, because the vast majority of the threat goes to your pet. Beast Mastery is designed to be a soloing and a leveling spec. Blizzard gave Hunters an easy choice and when it comes to choosing the best WoW leveling spec for your Hunter, Beast Mastery all the way!
