Starcraft 2 Queen tactics are crucial when fighting as the Zerg. There are various spells that can be used, such as Transfusion, Spawn Larva, or Spawn Creep Tumor. Also, there are certain advantages when using the Queen in some specific positions on a map, or in other cir[censored] stances.
Once a Spawning Pool is made a Queen can be produced from the Hatchery. Not only does this unit have three major spells, but it has offensive capabilities against air and ground units. For each Hatchery, one Queen is required in order for it to be able to continually cast the spell Spawn Larva which improves the production of Larvae.
The three spells are called Spawn Larva, Spawn Creep Tumor and Transfusion and have a major role in the tactics of the Zerg player. With the first spell, by pressing the hotkey V, the Queen injects 4 eggs into the Hatchery, and after they hatch, they can be used for making any type of unit.
Spawn Creep Tumor is not as crucial as the first spell, but it has an important role as it can extend Zerg creep. The hotkey used for activating the ability is C. With the hotkey T, the spell Transfusion is activated which provides healing for a friendly unit, or building, for 125 health.
In order to play efficiently with Zerg Queens, the player must spawn Larva at every base and at every 40 second interval. Even if the procedure requires attention and discipline from people, it must become an automated process and the attention must then be focused on other things. There are some tricks that may be very helpful. A good method uses the backspace key for centering on the Hatchery, which can be done multiple times in order to cycle through all Hatcheries. When generating Larvae, pressing the shift key will stack the Spawn Larva spell.
A Queen must be stationed at each Hatchery and Spawn Larva should be used all the time. If a mistake is made and people forget to spawn one time, the energy that remains could be used for generating creep. The Queen can also be used to defend against early enemy attacks such as Zergling rushes. Against the Protoss, the unit can defend rapid expansions and Void Ray Rushes. When it comes to fighting Terran, the unit can defend an early rush and in numbers it could be good at fighting Vikings, Banshees and Ravens.
Creating an extra Queen can be useful to help defend your bases as well as to spread Creep around the map. A Queen can also be positioned to block a ramp in case some enemy fast attack units try to infiltrate your main base.
It will be important to know the best Queen tactics for each of the three match ups. No matter if the player fights against a Terran, Protoss, or even another Zerg opponent, using the best tricks regarding the Queen is essential.
