EA will make MMA sequel

Electronic Arts focused hard on klå competitor, UFC Undisputed. THQ's Mixed Martial Arts-game series have done well commercially, especially through the "UFC 2009 Undisputed," which was the first game that got out carrying the official license to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

This game sold 1 million copies within the first month after its launch in May 2009.

For "EA Sports MMA," which was released in October, it was a different story. The game flopped sales-wise, although the reviews were largely positive. Our fighter meant to and that this game surpasses UFC Undisputed in many areas, and rolled a five on the dice.

Meanwhile, it emerged that the original plan was to alternate with MMA Fight Night series, so that hard-hitting gamers would find at least one game with the EA logo on that tempted the shelves each year. Next year released "Fight Night Champion", so it depends if EA uses the time and instead have mirror out a launch of "MMA 2" in 2012?

Ecker says nothing about this in the interview, but said instead: "It's not a question of whether the game is going, rather when."

"To be the first game in the series," EA Sports MMA "laid a good foundation to take the franchise further and certainly challenge THQ's" UFC Undisputed "series. - There will definitely be a "EA Sports MMA 2," said Jeff Ecker, a producer for the game in a podcast from the wrestling website Figure Four Daily (via crunch gear).
