Zelda OoT 3D The Great Deku Tree Guide

The first major dungeon in Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D is called The Great Deku tree. Since it is the first dungeon it isn’t to difficult. That said this guide will help you get through the place and make sure you don’t miss anything important. Let’s get started. The first part of the Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Deku tree guide is right when you enter. You should see a giant spider web on the floor that we can’t do anything about right now and so small plants with blue heads. Walk to them and they will attack you. They are called Deku Babas and aren’t to difficult. Block them with your shield and then strike with the sword. They will drop Deku Nuts. Pick them up and equip them. Also equip the Deku sticks if you haven’t already. After that we have to head up. There are two ways up a ladder and some vines. It doesn’t matter which one you take I took the ladder though. Once up there follow the path until you find a big treasure chest and open it up to get your map. This will show you the map on the bottom screen. As you can see it isn’t to big. Keep moving and forget the spiders for now we can’t do anything to them. You will come to a door. Open it up and head on in. Once inside you will have a Deku shrub shooting nuts at you. Deflect them back with your shield and once it pops out run at it and it will talk to you.

The next part of the Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Deku tree guide is getting the Fairy Slingshot. This is a key item for child Link and is easy to use. After you beat the Deku scrub go through the door that unlocked and you will see a floating platform. Jump to the platform and jump across the gap. If you fall use the vines to climb up. Open the chest for your Fairy Slingshot and equip it. Turn around and use the Slingshot to shoot down the ladder above you. You can use the stick or move your 3DS to aim it. Take the ladder and go back through the doors to the main fall of the Deku Tree. Head back to where you got the map and start shooting the spiders down with your slingshot. After you do that climb all the way up the vines and get off on either side. Run around the walkway until you find a door and go in it.

Once inside the door you will have to use the Deku sticks so be sure to have them as one of your items. First thing you will do is light the stick on fire and light the black torch that isn’t lit right by it. Then hit the switch and jump the gaps that come up. They are timed so be kind of quick. If you fall you can climb back up via some vines. Once on the other side up the chest to get your compass. This let’s you know where all the chests are as well as where the boss is. Now this is optional but you should see a gap in the wall to the left. You will see a floating spider as well. Hit the switch and jump over there but be sure to avoid the spider dropping down. Open the chest for a heart piece. You will see a Gold Skulltula kill it and collect what it drops. They only have 100 of these in them game and they are scattered all over. Pick them up when you can because you will get a reward later. Now we can leave the room.

The next part of the Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Deku tree guide is going underground. After you leave the room you will have to jump off a ledge. Each ledge has a spider that falls down. Kill the spider when it turns around. After that you have to jump down from there and land on the spider web and it will break. If you miss climb back up and try it again. Once down there climb the ledge and hit the switch. There are two more Gold Skulltulas down here. The one on the bars you can run and jump slash to kill it then jump slash again to get the item. The other one is on the vines. shoot it with your slingshot and climb them to get it. Now grab a flame from the torch and run across the gap where the water isn’t to deep and burn the web across on the other side. Then go through the door. Once inside a shrub will shoot at you again. Deflect it and catch it. He will give you the order for later. 2 3 1 is the order but that isn’t for a few more minutes. After you beat him shoot the eye above the barred door. Go through.

In this room you have to hit the switch under the water and take the raft across while the water is lowered. The water will stay low for only a bit of time so you have to time it. Once the raft is on its way back hit the switch and jump on it and you should be fine. Jump off on the other side. Once on the other side kill the spider then push the block. Climb up and up then go through the door.

This room makes it pretty clear what you have to do. Kill the plants for more Deku sticks then light all the torches. Should of mentioned this earlier but if you swing your sword after you light the torches the stick can be saved. Go through the next door.

In the next room a spider will drop and try to hit you. Let it drop then kill it. Before going to far in pull out your slingshot and look at the ceiling. You should see some white eggs. Shoot them so they don’t drop and turn into enemies. Then you use the sticks to burn the webs in the room. One has a wall that you can break with a bomb but we don’t have any yet. The other one you have to get through. Climb through then push the crate of the ledge. Now you need to use the flame on the other side to light the web on the floor. Get the flame jump back over the water onto the crate and swing the stick to light the web on fire. Then go down. Don’t worry there is water at the bottom so you don’t get hurt.

The last part of the Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D Deku tree guide making it to the boss. You will have three shrubs shooting at you. The order to take them out in is 2 3 1. Deflect each of them in that order. You will have to catch the last one. He will let you know a couple of things about the boss. Then head through the door that just go unlocked and it will be time for a boss fight. Since the is a boss rush mode I will be doing separate articles for the bosses so they can be easily found.
