Gears of War Judgment Guide – COG Tag Location Guide

The fourth entry in the Gears of War franchise has a major collectible that is worth a trophy/achievement and some in game goodies if you find all of them. Like in the past entries, there are COG tags strewn throughout each section of the game. During the Judgement section of the campaign it is easiest to look for a red COG tag sprayed on the sides of buildings, trees and other objects. Look around these sprayed objects and you are bound to find a COG tag. Let’s get started.

Chapter 1: The Museum of Military Glory – Baird’s Testimony

COG Tag in Old Town

After finishing off the enemies in the last courtyard, before heading to the exit to the left make a right turn into a small courtyard. You will see the gears spray on the side of a building. Go into the alley to the right of the spray and the tag will be on the ground by a trash can.

COG Tag in Riverwalk District

Before exiting go back into the courtyard were you had to hold off grinders. Head down the set of stairs to your right. There will be an alley with a COG spray on a building. Take a right at the spray and you will find the COG tags on the ground.

COG Tag in Museum Gardens

This COG tag is at the beginning of the level. After chainsawing a door just after the declassified option it will open up into a small courtyard. Head to the right and you will see a COG spray that will lead to an alley. Head down the alley, past the frag grenades and you will see the COG tags on the ground.

COG Tag in Great Hall

The Great Hall has you holding off enemies like a horde mode. You will see the COG spray on the statue in the middle of the room by a fountain. The COG tag will be in the water on the front of the statue

COG Tag in Kashkur Wing

The COG Spray and the COG tag will be on a short wall just underneath the minigun that the Locust use against you.

COG Tag in East Wing

The East Wing is also another horde like section. After clearing all of the enemies head towards to the exit. Take a right just before exiting and the COG tag will be on the ground.

COG Tag in Archives

After getting through the section where you have to destroy some eggs the game will open up to a warehouse. If you hug the left wall you will go past a spot where a mulcher is laying on the ground. Continue hugging the left wall and you will see the COG spray on a wall. Head to the right of that and the COG tag will be laying on a pallet next to a dead COG soldier.

COG Tag in Vaults

In this section there will be a giant hole in the ground. An emergence hole will open up on the right side of the room next to this crater. to the right You will see the COG spray above the emergence hole. Go to the right of the spray and you will find the COG tag next to a dead marine by the crater.

Chapter 2: Halvo Bay Military Academy – Sofia’s Testimony

COG Tag in Enfield Bridge

The COG Tag is located near the middle of the bridge. In the center there will be a minigun and a gold circle railing. The tag will be located on a broken ledge just behind the gold railing. If you miss it the COG spray will be to the left of where reinforcements come in after the Reavers are taken care of.

COG Tag in Courtyard

After you make your way through the enemies in the courtyard you will be greeted by a raging grub just outside the school. Head inside the school and you will see the COG spray to the right. Instead of going towards the spray, take a left. There will be a small office room off this area and the COG tag will be on the ground.

COG Tag in R&D Lab

In the research lab there will be a section where some grinders and other grubs burst through some glass on the right side of the square room. You will see the COG spray on the wall just before heading inside this room. Towards the back of the room where the grubs came from there will be a dead scientist and the COG tag laying on the floor.

COG Tag in Monroe Commons

From the beginning of the section head through the door that is marked 22 above it. In this room you will find a COG spray. Directly to the left of the spray is a new room. Hug the right wall and the COG tag will be on the ground next to some desks.

COG Tag in Atrium

At the very beginning of this section you will see a COG spray on the right wall. Jump over a couple of barriers and stick to the right side. There will be a small room on the right that has a COG tag behind a door.

COG Tag in Crash Site

The bot will sit at the top of the stairs. Look behind the bot and to the right behind some sand bags. There you will see the COG tag sitting on the ground.

NOTE: You can grab this COG Tag at the end of the last section before triggering the horde mode like section. It counts for the Crash Site section of Sofia’s Testimony either way.

Chapter 3: Seahorse Hills – Paduk’s Testimony

COG Tag in Amador Park

After passing the mashers and the courtyard after it you will be heading towards the exit. Just before you get on to the street do a complete 180 and the COG tag will be sitting on the ground to the left of some stairs.

COG Tag in Magadha Villa

When you get to the end of this section you will be able to see a COG spray on the back wall. Continue past the exit door and head towards the spray. The COG tag will be on the ground against the left wall about 20 feet strait in front of the spray. It’s kind of in a little nook by a power wire pole and some construction barriers.

COG Tag in Soleno Villa

From the exit of this section turn around and look the way you came from. You should be able to see the COG spray by a fire hydrant and some cars. The COG tag will be in between two cars that are crunched together before reaching the spray.

COG Tag in Windward Way

Some enemies will bust though a wall towards the end of this section. From this new made ramp you should be able to see the COG spray just to the left on the wall. Run that way and head through the blue freight container that has an ammo box inside it. Just on the other side of that against the wall will be the COG tag.

COG Tag in Risea Estate

After clearing the area run past the exit. You will see a garage that has a slight decline and a burning car by it. Go inside the garage and the COG tag will be in the back left corner by some tires.

COG Tag in Guest Bungalows

After taking out all of the enemies (including the Reaver) head back down the stairs from where you killed the last mortar enemy. In a small room below that you will find the COG Tag on the right wall sitting on a dresser underneath a picture.

COG Tag in Elliott’s Mansion

This one is a little trickier to find. Head down the stairs as soon as you exit the room that the the first time the bot is hacking the computer system. Across the room and to the left you should see the COG spray. Head up the stairs just to the left of the spray. Take a right once you get up the stairs and the COG tag will be sitting on the right side of the bridge that crosses between the two sections immediately after you step on it.

Chapter 4: Onyx Point – Cole’s Testimony

COG Tag in Fortress

Coming up to the end of this section you should be able to see a COG spray on to the right. Go down the little alley and head into the room that is on your left. Inside the room will be an Onyx crate and a COG tag sitting on the ground under the window facing the beach you came from.

COG Tag in Container Terminal

Before heading inside the building (Baird will say something like “no reason to hang around out here”) Look for some stairs to the right. You should be able to find the COG tags laying on the ground next to some sand bags. There also is quite a lot of blood smeared on the floor in this area.

COG Tag in Motor Pool

After you open a door in this new area there will be an outside battle sequence. Check the left wall for the COG spray. Go up the hill and face the other side of the wall that the COG spray is on. Check in a little area and you should see the COG tag on the ground.

COG Tag in The Cliffs

When you start the level there is a small half flight of stairs to the left. Head up these stairs and the COG tag will be sitting on the ground next to the railing and some barrels.

COG Tag in Central Base

After going up the elevator you will drop into an outside environment with some warehouses. Hug the right wall and you will see the COG Spray in a warehouse to close on the right. Head down the stairs and turn left. Next to the stairs will be the COG tag.

COG Tag in Central Control

When you start this section head strait towards the computer screens. Directly after you go up the small flight of stairs take a right and hug the railing. Take another right along a little path and the COG tag will be at the end of the path.

COG Tag in Beach

This COG tag is in the beginning of this section. Walk along the catwalk until you get into a room that is on fire and has the declassified mission option. If you turn 180 degrees from looking at the declassified mission the COG tag will be in the corner closest to where you came in (left front corner if you are looking at the room from the walkway).

Chapter 5: Downtown Halvo Bay – Baird’s 2nd Testimony

COG Tag in Wharf District

After you kick in a door that leads to the Halvo Bay Yacht Club Resort area a bunch of grubs will come flooding out. If you look to the left wall you will see the COG spray on the wall. Just to the left and on the ground is the COG tag sitting on the ground underneath a bulletin like board.

COG Tag in Parade Grounds

After kicking a door open you will be on the street with some parade floats. Head down the road and you should see the COG Spray on a building to your right. Head up the stairs and take a right. When you get to the top of the stairs take another right into the little nook and you should see the COG tag sitting on the ground on a pile of leaves.

COG Tag in Upper State Street

After ambushing the locust patrol you will continue to a section that has a broken building and is uphill. If you go All the way to the left by a rusted red car and broken down yellow van there will be a small inlet of rubble before actually going up the hill. There will be your COG tags sitting on the ground that can be collected just after a couple of frag grenades.

COG Tag in State Street Rooftops

This COG tag is in the middle of this section. After taking care of some of the grubs on the rooftops you will see a big hole in the building. If you continue along this hole you will see the COG spray on your left. Go up the little ramp next to the COG spray and take a left. Take another left and follow the wall to your left. There will be an ammo box and the COG tag on the ground. It is in the section right before the Reaver drops down.

COG Tag in First Avenue Rooftops

As soon as the level starts you should be able to see the COG spray on the left on the wall. Head around that corner and the COG tag will be sitting on the ground.

COG Tag in Museum Square Rooftops

From the start of this section head under an overhang and with blue letters that says help wounded here that is leaning against a building. Head to the left and go past 3 sand bag cover points. Head down the stairs and go to the left. The COG tag is sitting on the ground right next to the stairs on the other side of the sand bags. NOTE: It’s on the opposite side of the exit point.

COG Tag in Overlook

After a round or two of enemies some Kantas will pop out of a side door across from the COG spray that you saw from the section before. Head through the door the Kantas came out and take the hallway to the left. There you will find the COG tag on the ground.

Chapter 6: The Courhouse

COG Tag in Grand Courtroom

From the cover you start on turn 180 degrees and face the back wall. Take a right. Follow around in a circle. Take the second set of steps to your right and it will lead to a flood lamp and a COG tag sitting on the ground.

COG Tag in Halls of Judgment

After you kill all of the flying enemies you will move forward into a hall with a ton of enemies. After the first round, some will bust through a balcony on your left. Head outside the door past the COG spray. Take a left and the COG tag will be sitting on the ground next to the beginning of the sand bags.

COG Tag in Terrace

This COG tag is at the end of the level. Go all the way to the exit door and then turn around. On the ground you should see the COG tag in the corner of the room.

COG Tag in North Entrance

In the middle of this section there will be a mounted gun. Make your way around the stairs and head up to the gun. There you will find the COG tags sitting on the ground.

COG Tag in Main Entrance

Make your way through all of the enemies. As you continue through the areas there will be a room to your right. Go into the room and the COG tags will be on the ground.

COG Tag in Great Staircase

The COG tags are at the end of this section. Before exiting, head towards a small set of stairs. Turn left once you get up the stairs and then look for them on the ground after a little walk.

COG Tag in Plaza for the Tyran Dead

Look for the COG spray on the outside of the wall. The COG tag is underneath the spray. You may want to wait in between the boss battle when regular Locust spawn to grab the tag.

COG Tags in the Aftermath Campaign

COG Tag in Reunion

After moving through a couple of sections there will be a main courtyard that you will come to. In this section waves of Locust come out with One-shots and Mortors. There is also a HUGE blue fountain in this area. If you come down the stairs and do a complete 180 there is a set of COG tags on the ground.

COG Tag in Anybody Home?

Making your way through the beginning of the level stay to the left. Eventually you will find a garage. Look for the dead, let’s say people, in the garage and you should be able to find a set of COG tags. They are just past some messed up cars.

COG Tag in Dead End

Make your way through the immulsion tower. After getting your gas mask there will be a section where you have to open a door by pulling it up with a partner. Before pulling it up there is a door you can kick in. If you go through the door there is a COG tag in the corner.

COG Tag in One Step Closer

There is a section that has you moving from building to building to avoid One-shot and other sniper fire. Make your way through two buildings and continue down the street. You will see a building on your right with some flood lamps and the COG spray. Head down the stairs in this room and it will lead into a basement. The COG tag will be on the ground by a washing machine.

COG Tag in Strait to the Top

After taking out all of the snipers there will be an office area that you can drop into. Drop down and you should see some desks. Look for a desk that has some animal heads behind it. Go through the window, next to the desk, on the right. Go immediately to the left and you should see the COG tag on the ground.

COG Tag in A Few Complaints

This COG tag is near the middle of the campaign. Moving through the areas you will come across a kitchen. In the kitchen you will see a COG spray on a fridge. Look for the pantry area off of this kitchen and you should see the COG tag on the ground next to a dead person.
