The Motes Of Life in Destiny are another end game currency you can trade for class specific items or emblems. If you are lucky you can find them in chests or after a match in the Crucible. Find out where to turn them in here!
Although they are rare to find in the open world you can get them by leveling up past 20. When you hit level 20 you experience bar on will disappear from your HUD but you can still find it on your character screen. When you go to the character screen scroll over your level and it will show you a bar and let you know when you are getting closer to your next Mote of Light.
Once you have 25 Motes you can visit The Speaker in the tower and trade them to him for an epic class item. Before you purchase be sure to preview the item by selecting details while over the item in the shop. There are some really awesome looking class items here but they take a lot of time to get. I rolled a Warlock so I couldn’t see the other class items but the ones I could choose made me want to grind some Motes of Light.
Xur also takes Motes of Light but he only appears during the weekend.
