This Far Cry 4 crafting guide lists all of the available items that you can craft in Far Cry 4 along with the necessary items and the best places to collect them. The crafting has been slightly simplified compared to Far Cry 3, providing simple 1 click upgrades to any items in which you have the materials to improve. Be sure to get the Bell towers in the area so you can see all the animals in the area.

Far Cry 4 Review – A Deranged Playground Of Brutality & Freedom

A deranged playground of brutality and freedom that builds perfectly on the solid foundations set by its predecessor. A worthy entry to the franchise and a must buy for any open-world gamers

There’s a couple of things to remember that will greatly aid your hunting efforts:

• Killing an animal with explosive or fire damage will not yield a pristine skin. It will be damaged and useless. However, this only applies if the final blow on the animal was explosive or fire based. For example: You can hit a rhino with some grenades, as long as the final hit is a knife or bullet
• Killing an animal with a knife, throwing knife or arrow will yield twice the amount of hides
• For aggressive animals, such as Bengal Tigers, find a location that spawns the animal and take a Mounted Gun Truck with you. Then simply use Bait to lure an animal out. It usually attracts the animal from that particular area.

You are only able to see the requirements for the next stage of upgrades, you cannot see all the requirements past that. Here is a list of all the items you will need to max each item in the crafting tree.

Above is a selection of slides showing the rough area you will be using. Notes: Remember to check water whenever you pass by a water source for a large fish. Remember to use bait as soon as you reach the general vicinity of animal spawns to easily attract the skins you need.

• Step 1:You don’t have much room at the start so you want to improve your loot bag first. Head East of Banapur and collect 5x Sambar skins. Craft your next loot bag
• Step 2: Travel further East. If you own the Khilana Bazaar Outpost there will always be 2-3 Pigs spawned nearby. Simple Fast Travel twice to same location and gather 3x Pig skins.
• Step 3: Head South West and collect 6x Rhino skins. You can also find the 4x Demon Fish Skins here in the lake (Many thanks xScottux)
• Step 4: Head North West gather 4 Bharal skins
• Step 5: North for 4x Wild Boar skins and then East for 5x Dhole skins
• Step 6: East again for 3x Assasm Macaque skins and 7x Malayan Tapir skins
• Step 7: Fast Travel back to Khilana Bazaar
• Step 8: Grab the nearby Buzzard (helicopter type vehicle)
• Step 9: Head South East and collect 4x Clouded Leopard skins
• Step 10: South East again for 7x Bengal Tiger skins
• Step 11: Short distance East for 6x Tibetan Wolf skins and then North West for 3x Honey Badger skins (Honey Badgers spawn during night)
• Step 12: Fly North East over the river and collect 5x Yak skins
• Step 13: North for 8x Bear skins
• Step 14: From this point on it’s just finding Snow Leopards. They are not common until North East Kyrat. Snow Leopards can be seen during a campaign mission on the Himalays. Will update once I have more information
• Step 15: Congratulations! You’ve maxed normal crafting. Now all you need is to attack the correct Outposts and complete the Kyrat Fashion Show quests for rare skins.

For Demon Fish- Just South-East of Banapur (The first village you come to in the game) there is a huge lake with the Army Supply Flight (It’s on the lake floor) unknown location question mark in the middle. This lake is filled with them =)

Far Cry 4 Weapon Holster Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Weapon Holster Upgrade 1 – You can’t miss this one. It takes 3 Tibetan Wolf pelts which you will get during the first or second mission.

Far Cry 4 Weapon Holster Upgrade 2 – This upgrade takes 3 Malayan Tapir Skins. You can find the Tapirs west of Prabhakar’s Farm or right next to the Bell tower near Banapur. They only appear at night.

Far Cry 4 Weapon Holster Upgrade 3 – Requires 3 Honey Badger skins. Unlocks additional weapon slot. West side of map, South of the N fortress. I found one a considerable distance NE of the icon, near the nearby tower. Increases carrying capacity for throwable weapons.

Far Cry 4 Wallet Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Wallet Upgrade 1 – Increases carrying capacity of Rupees. Requires 2 Bharal Skins. You can find these during the Prologue mission when traveling towards the tower.

Far Cry 4 Wallet Upgrade 2 – Increases carrying capacity of Rupees. Requires 3 Assasm Macaque skins. You can find Assasm Macaque near Longinus’ house.

Far Cry 4 Wallet Upgrade 3 – Increases carrying capacity of Rupees. Requires 4 Asian Rhino skins. I found Elephants or Mounted Turrets on 4×4 vehicles to be the best way to kill a rhino.

Far Cry 4 Wallet Upgrade 4 – Increases carrying capacity of Rupees. Requires Mad Devil’s skin

Far Cry 4 Loot Bag Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Loot Bag Upgrade 1 – The first upgrade lets you carry 60 loot items. You will need 3 Sambar hides to get this upgrade. You can find the Sambars roaming right outside of Banapur.

Far Cry 4 Loot Bag Upgrade 2 – Requires 3 Pig skin. Pigs can be found near many of the villages. There are also 3-4 that spawn near the first Outpost after you take control. Carry up to 90 items.

Far Cry 4 Loot Bag Upgrade 3 – Requires 4 Demon Fish skin. These are huge fish that look a little like Tuna on steroids. I found one at the Golden Path camp South West of Kyra Tea Weigh Station, and used a throwing knife for the additional skin. Repeated twice.

Far Cry 4 Loot Bag Upgrade 4 – Requires Ghost Bear skin.

Far Cry 4 Syringe Kit Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Syringe Kit Upgrade 1 – The first upgrade lets you carry 4 syringes total. You will need 2 Wild Boar skins to get this upgrade. Wild Boars can be found north of Banapur.

Far Cry 4 Syringe Kit Upgrade 2 – The second syringe kit upgrade will let you carry 5 syringes. You will need 3 Tibetan Wolf skins to get this upgrade. I had enough from the quest that had you close up the wolf den.

Far Cry 4 Syringe Kit Upgrade 3 – Requires 4 Malayan Tapir skins. Increase syringe carrying capacity

Far Cry 4 Syringe Kit Upgrade 4 Requires Sky Tiger’s skin.

Far Cry 4 Bait Bag Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Bait Bag Upgrade 1 – This will let you carry 3 pieces of bait instead of 2. You will need 2 Dhole skins in order to get this upgrade. You can find the Dhols near Old Isha’s house, next to the Wild Boars. They travel in packs so bring a rapid fire side arm.

Far Cry 4 Bait Bag Upgrade 2 – Requires 3x Yak skins. Increases amount of Bait you can carry.

Far Cry 4 Bait Bag Upgrade 3 – Requires 5x Bear Skin. Increases amount of Bait you can carry.

Far Cry 4 Bait Bag Upgrade 4 – Increases amount of Bait you can carry. Gulo’s skin

Far Cry 4 Ammo Bag Upgrades

Far Cry 4 Ammo Bag Upgrade 1 – This upgrade increases the amount of ammo you can hold for all your guns. You will need 2 Wild Boar skins to get this upgrade. You can find the Wild Boars to the north of Banapur.

Far Cry 4 Ammo Bag Upgrade 2 Requires 3 Bharal skins. Increases ammo carrying capacity

Far Cry 4 Ammo Bag Upgrade 3 Requires 4x Clouded Leopard skins. Increases ammo carrying capacity
