Dragon Age II Walkthrough: Act 2 : Part 1

Finding Home

This quest is available at the beginning of Act 2 only if you paid Bartrand the 50 Sovereigns yourself, rather then relying on a loan from Dougal. Bodahn meets you outside of Viscount's Keep and tells you to come to the estate.  Go to the Hawke Estate (Amell Mansion) in Hightown. That concludes the quest. If you borrowed the Sovereigns from Dougal, you will have access to the quest "Profit and Loss" instead.

Profit and Loss

This quest is available at the beginning of Act 2 if you borrowed the 50 Sovereigns from Dougal to pay Bartrand instead of paying in full yourself. Bodahn meets you when you leave Viscount's Keep and tells you Dougal is waiting in your estate. Head to your estate in Hightown and speak to Dougal. He will  demand more money. Tell him to forget it. That concludes the quest. Later in the act he will ambush you. If you payed Bartrand in full in act 1, you will have access to the "Finding Home" quest instead.

Go to Hanged Man Pub in Lowtown and speak to Varric.

Isabela's Ongoing Search

Head to the Hanged Man pub in Lowtown and talk to Isabela.

Visit Anders

Go to Anders' Clinic in Darktown and talk to him.

Speak to Fenris

Go to Fenris' Mansion (Hightown) to speak to him.

Mourning

Go to Merill's Hut in Lowtown to speak to her. (Note: There appears to be a bug which makes this quest autocomplete. If you dont see it under the current companion quests in your journal, check your completed quests)

Calling on the Captain

Go to the Viscount's Keep Barracks and talk to Aveline.

This quest is unlocked after doing either Finding Home or Profit and Loss. Go to the Qunari Compound by the Docks and speak to Arishok there. Then go to the Coterie in Darktown to find where Javaris has gone. Go to the tunnels that lead from Darktown to Smuggler's Cut. Head north in the tunnels, defeating the Carta enemies and leave tunnels into the wilderness from the northern exit. Find Javaris outside and talk to him. Go to the Side Alley off Lowtown to find the elf that tried killing Javaris. Take the Steel Latch from the ground and put it on the Gas Barrel. Defeat the Mercenaries. Take the second steel latch and seal another Barrel. More mercenaries will appear, defeat them. Repeat two more times, in the end fighting the elven fanatic. Return to Arishok at the docks. After talking to Arishok, return to the Keep and tell the viscount about the Arishok's reaction. This completes the quest.
