Chapter 10 - Jade
As Kitana is lead away from the audience chamber, Jade swears that she will help her life-long friend. The scene changes to two Tarkatan's playing around with machine guns. One, Baraka tells the other to stop toying with the weapons as they belong to Shang Tsung and to return to his post. After Baraka puts the gun away, Jade appears, telling Baraka that she will speak with Kitana. The Tarkatan refuses to let her through and the two engage in battle.
Playing as Jade, you want to use her various modes, staff and boomerang. Shadow Flash (Away, Toward + Front Kick) is handy for the temporary invincibility it proves, as does Shadow Kick (Down, Toward + Back Kick). Shadow Kick also does a good job of closing medium gap quickly as well.
Baraka takes some doing this time. He will make better use of his ranged attack as well as his X-Ray Attack. Be careful as he can easily start his spin attack. This is still a good fight to learn a lot about using Jade in combat. Keep on your guard and experiment so you come to understand how to properly use her.
After that, he is down and out she heads up the stairs to her friend. At the top we find the Shokan, Sheeva, waiting for Jade. She tells her to leave as Jade could only be there to help the princess escape and that Kitana's execution is the only way that Kitana is going to regain her Honor. Jade tells Sheeva that she disgrees with that and the two fight.
Sheeva is a bit harder this time around as you play as someone with a very different style. Remember that Sheeva's X-Ray move does not have much range but is devestating if it hits. Still, this can be an easier fight than the one against Baraka, keep experimenting with Jade to find your niche with her.
Now, it is Kitana and Jade alone. The two apologize to each other. As Jade attempts to free her friend from her bonds, they hear voices of pursuit. Kitana tells Jade to run and find Raiden. She hesitates briefly about leaving her friend there but follows Kitana's wishes and runs away.
The scene changes to the beach. There Jade assumes she is safe for the moment. Just as she says that Mileena appears and challenges Jade.
Mileena is a bit harder this round, as though last time she wasn't quite ready for it. Remember that she has a good number of teleport moves and can roll around quickly with her ball attack. Still, use what you have learned against Sheeva and Baraka to beat her easily.
Now Jade makes to find Raiden. He appears at that, with Liu Kang, Smoke, Johnny and Kung Lao. Smoke attacks her, saying that Jade attacked Kitana because she was turning from Shao Khan. Raiden tries to stop Smoke from attacking Jade but to no avail.
You've fought Smoke before, just apply what you have learned from your past few battles to this fight.
After the fight, Raiden makes to get back in control of Smoke, as Jade states she didn't want to do that. There is a good moment with Johnny Cage at that point though. The three mortals hear what Jade has to say, that Kitana is going to be executed. Liu Kang wants to stop this from happening but Raiden tells him that they must return to the Tourament. Kung Lao reasons with him, saying that they can go and rescue Kitana while others fight in their stead and they can join him on the tournament grounds. Raiden is not happy with the plan but he goes along with it.
