Chapter 15 - Nightwolf
Just as the Soulnado begins to form, Nightwolf makes it to the scene. He tells Sub-Zero to flee stating his soul is not safe. Quan Chi says that Nightwolf is powerless to stop this and the two of them start into a battle.
Many of Nightwolf's attacks use the same starting motion, Down, Away then either kick or Back punch. His X-Ray attack is only about Melee range, so be sure that you are close when you attempt it.
Quan Chi is a more difficult starting opponent, you will want to take some time to learn a few of Nightwolf's moves. Don't be afraid to use your reflect if you see an incoming projectile. That can spare you a lot of damage.
After that fight, Noob interferes before Nightwolf can finish Quan Chi. The two fight, with Noob getting knocked into the Soul Tornado, causes it to explode. This thankfully breaks the spell. Nightwolf comes to, seeing the crater from
Raiden is lost in thought as the others talk about the effects of Raiden attempting to change the future. They question just how events have been unfolding wondering how much of it is due to their interference and how much was ordained. When Kitana asks Raiden about what his thoughts are, he only responds absent-minded. When Nightwolf returns, he announces that he has distrubed the Soul Tornado. Raiden looks at his amulet, only to see it crack further. Now frustrated, he decides he must consult with the Elder Gods. Liu Lang tries to tell him that the battle is there, in Earthrealm, but the God has made up his mind. He teleports away with Liu Kang.
Not long after, Stryker asks what they are supposed to it. Sub-Zero has the answer only too soon as he detects numerous precenses. The Lin Kuei have surrounded the Alliance. All of them square off against their respective opponents. Cryax takes Nightwolf
Cyrax will not have changed his tactics much. You will want to use the Reflect as a counter to his Net attack, which nullifies it. After that use the opening to strike fast. Remember that you want some distance from Cyrax else when he teleports he can damage you.
After Cyrax is down, Nightwolf sees Smoke in trouble against Sektor. He hurls a Spirit Tomahawk at the Cyborg, saving his comrade. Sektor then turns his fury against Nightwolf.
All the Cybrogs seem to have teleports. Remember though the Sektor has numerous attacks based on teleporting in plus his missiles. Counter the missiles with the Reflect Counter and press any advantage to be found from it.
Once Sektor is beaten, the manage to finish off the Lin Kuei. Sub-Zero sets about learning what he can. Kitana senses the presence of her Mother, who then appears, bathing them all in her scream. She takes on everyone, killing Jade, Smoke and a few others. Nightwolf moves to interfere against Sindel as she works on latest victim.
This woman is something else with her sonic and hair attacks. Be warned that he projectiles can hit both high and low so you must block accordingly. She is a lot faster than most opponents but Nightwolf seems to move about the same speed. It helps to use Reflect on her numerous projectiles and she needs to be in close to some of her attacks at least.
After, he calls forth his powers and we see the lights as Sonya calls for Raiden's aid. The scene cuts to Raiden in the realm of the Elder Gods, beseeching them to intervene and aid Earthrealm. They clearly state that Shao Kahn has not broken any of the rules of the tournament. That means they cannot interfere with the events unfolding. We learn the Tournaments are for maintaining a balance between the numerous realms.
The scene returns to the Temple, with Nightwolf squaring off against Sindel. Raiden and Liu Kang arrive only to see the two destro each other. Liu Kang than witnesses a death that shakes him. Raiden makes a horrible choice, Liu Kang turns from the God, telling him he must tend to his wounded friends. Raiden still prays for his friend.
