Dead Island Walkthrough Part 2: Prologue- Rise and Shine - Blood on the Sand Quest

After waking up in the room with other survivors, go around the room and talk to them. You will learn from Jeannine that the lifeguard is stuck outside with the zombies and that nobody is doing anything to save him your goal will be to help him. Head for the door.

The person guarding the door will tell you that you need a weapon before heading out.

Look int he room for a weapon. There should be a paddle leaning on the wall to the right of the door. Grab the paddle to the right and exit the room into the beach. You will see the lifeguard fighting with the zombies. Help him kill the zombies using your weapon. After your're done, Sinamoi will help thank you and you will skip to another cutscene.

Back inside the room, talk to Sinamoi to receive the next quest.

At this point you would have completed the quest and also leveled up.  Open the game menu to assign your skillpoints.
