Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough Part 10 – After the Joining, The Tower of Ishal
After the Joining
Head to the east, in the same direction that Duncan and Alistair went. There is a great scene between Loghain and the King. You will receive your own briefing from Duncan after the scene. Ask what questions you want. Once this scene finishes, the next quest begins.
The Tower of Ishal
Head to east, to the bridge leading into Ostagar. A cutscene runs showing the battle. Now dash across the bridge. On the other side you will learn that darkspawn have overrun the tower you were sent to.
Just up the stairs you need to face down five Darkspawn. Kill them then head up the slope to the east. There are more darkspawn, Genlocks and Hurlocks, to the east. You will at the steps to the tower now. Head inside
Entryway
None to far in you will see barricades and four hurlocks, three archers and one emissary. In the northern corner, none to far from the entrance to the hallway, is a locked chest with some loot in it. Claim it in then head into hallway and the southern-most room. Inside there are more Hurlocks and Genlocks, but also more chests. Collect from all the wooden crates between the beds and make your way your way north.
When you reach the northern most room you will encounter another group of darkspawn. This is most Genlocks so they are easy to kill. There is a locked chest along the northwestern wall with armor inside. Collect all you can then head up the stairs to the second floor
Floor 2
Search the room for the locked chest and the wooden crate. After that, head through the large opening toward the hallway. You will be attacked by four darkspawn, a Genlock and the rest Hurlocks. Head to the left to find a wooden crate to loot. Head over to the door opposite the chest, open it and go through. In front of the bookcase is a codex entry, “History of the Chantry: Chapter 1”. Now head to the right you will find a pair of ballista. Fire them to kill the darkspawn on the far side of the corridor. Mop up any survivors then head back to the opening and explore the northern part of it for two more chest. Now head back into the hallway and go to the southern room you have not entered. Kill the darkspawn in there, all Genlocks, and head up the stairs.
Floor 3
Head forward to face six Genlocks. Most will come at you with swords but two will hang back and shoot arrows at the party. Wipe out the melee fighters then go for the ranged. Once the battle is over loot the weapon stand to the northeast and head through the door in the southeast. Again, more Genlocks. If you listen to your party, you will hear about a lever, straight out from the door, that will allow you to release a trio of Mabari hounds to help you out. Do so and slaughter the Genlocks.
Head down the hallway and go through the first door on the left. There are two Genlocks and one Hurlock. Now hop over to the next room and loot its chest, in the back against the wall on the left. In the following room you will find another pair of chests to loot. Now head through the door into the next section of this floor. There is another trio of Darkspawn, two Genlocks and a Hurlock. Kill them, unlock the chest if you can, then loot the bodies. Now go up the stairs.
Top Floor
You just need to be the Orge. This is a hard fight so be sure to have plenty of health poultices available. Kill it, loot the barrels, then light the beacon.
You come to with Morrigan standing over you. Talk with her to learn what has been happening. When it all resumes play, check the chests you can. If you have at least deft hands 2, you can open the second one that is locked. Now head outside.
There you find Alitstair and Flemeth. You can get a lot of information from Flemeth. You can get an idea of what you will be doing next, invoking the treaties, calling the Landsmeet. When everything is said and done, you are granted a number of quests:

A Paragon Of Her Kind
Nature of the Beast
Broken Circle
These are the main story quests you have laid out in front of you. Many have subquest that are required to complete. Head for the world map to begin the next part of your journey.
