Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning Walkthrough Part 4 – Gorhart Sidequests Part 1

Building Bridges
Gained from the warden of the village, Herc Adwold. You are tasked with finding Aery, a Fae who lives nearby. Head out of the village to the north. Start going to the west as soon as possible. Expect to find Boggarts along the path and at least one wolf. Hang close to the cliff edge to reach Aery with minimal troubles. Be sure to keep your eyes open as there is a Lore Stone, the Oradath Stone. There is also a chest to the east of the stone, which has a hard lock on it.

Once there you can talk with her, learning about her history and why she came to settle here. Talk with her about the wounded Fae to learn her name. Aery will want to use her to find out if potions will work on them, but it must be powerful. Now ask after the potion itself, where you can either create a potion or buy one from the apothecary. You are now tasked with either creating or buying a Greater Healing Potion.

Return to the village. Follow the marker to Golden Age Alchemy in the southwestern part of the village. Head inside and talk with Nanne Hanri to learn that one is floating around but she does not know where it is. Head farther into Golden Alchemy, specifically, down the stairs to the left into the basement. You will find an Alchemy Lab you can use there. If you have Alchemy 3, then you can make the Greater Healing Potion with: 3 Black Cohosh, 2 Embereyes & 1 Bloodroot. Otherwise you need to find the potion which is in the desk which is in the northern part of the basement. It is, in a sense, stealing but a time you can easily get away with it.

With the potion in hand, head back to Herc Adwold who is now in the Inn on the second floor. He is very concerned with the rippling effects of this woman's sudden attack. This can tie back into the Warsworn who are downstairs. Still, you can just make for the House of Ballads. It is said to be in Gelndara to the northeast.

Follow the road north then follow it as it goes to the east. Continue along with it to the north. This will lead you to a Lore Stone along the route. Just follow it as bends to the west to make it to the Faelands and toward your destination. You will find the path to the House of Ballads fairly smooth

Once inside head straight ahead and talk with the first person you encounter. Galin will ask what happened to her and you can choose to tell him that either a villager attacked her or that they saved her from a bandit attack. Choose whichever, he will appreciate the truth and potentially smell out a lie. Now fast travel back to Gorhart and report to Herc Adwold. He will reward you with his sword and shield. Now you can talk with Iluvia and learn her reasons for coming here.

The Commendation
Talk with Ost Ordura inside the Gorthart Inn. This is the introductory Warsworn quest. He will ask you to hunt down two Bandit leaders in the nearby woods.

The first of the brothers can be found to the north of the village. Just follow the path north then break from it and continue on. You will find a stream between you and the camp.If you go a little more to the east you will find a smaller encampment with the lore stone of Dalentarth, two bandits and an easy locked chest with Scarab Salts, White Flake and possible a Shadow Prism as well. Now swim across the river and then you can either sneak in, slaying those strictly in your path or just enter open combat. It is very possible to sneak up and steal his dagger and leave him alive … or just kill him.

Now continue to the east. You have a ways to travel with a fair number of enemies. Once you get closer to your target you will encounter a trio of Red Legion bandits. Kill them then get ready to handle the smaller camp. Again, you can just move in and attack or sneak in, potentially just stealing the dagger. The target is asleep so it is not too hard. Either way, you can now head back to the village and report to Ost to receive your reward. You will get some money and be told to head for Shieldring Keep, to speak with Tine Delfric with the commendation.

Recipe for Trouble
Given to you by Nanne Hanri inside Golden Alchemy. She wants you to search for her missing apprentice, Karth. She suspects that he is hiding in Agnur Farhal, an Erathi Ruin that is to the east of Gorhart. Just before the entrance is another Lore Stone so be sure to visit it before you head into the dungeon.

Head inside, down the hallway, taking the first northern turn you can. There you will find the missing apprentice, Karth Hilfred. He reveals himself to be a Red Legion Bandit. Kill him and those who three others who rush to his aid. After that, you need to destroy the crates that contain the product of the formula.

Head to the east. You will find three Red Legion Bandits blocking the way. Kill them and smash the two crates that are nearby.

Continue to the east. The path will bend to the south so keep with it. If you go south sooner, then you will find three Brownies waiting for you with some treasure. Following the path toward the crates, you will encounter two more Red Legion Bandits. Now head to the east when you reach the balcony as there are no other options. Descend the steps and make your way back into the chamber. There are four more Bandits down there and a number of crates for you to destroy. This takes out most of the crates. Now head back to the entrance of the ruins.

Head to the north, well above Gorhart you will find a Bandit encampment. Take your time to kill everyone there and smash the crates. They are neatly marked on your map. After the last six have been smashed return to Golden Age Alchemy and talk with Nanne. For this quest you will start to get a discount on her wares.

Homecoming
Head into the cemetry below the Temple. There you will find Gizela Wulflac. Talk with her and she will ask you to search for her husband. Search the woods and you can find a corpse with a death notice for Camden. Give this to Gizela who will insist this piece of paper is not enough. Now ask after where she last saw him.

Crisis of Faith
Head up the steps to the temple and talk with Father Dynwel who stands beside the door. He will ask you to find Brother Egan. Head to the north of the village, following the road. You will find Brother Egan waiting where the path circles. He has new friends who want him to retrieve a treasure. Offer to help him and he will lead you to your next destination, Waterhall Down.

Once inside Egan will admit to having no courage so he will want you to stay close. Follow him and equip fire element weapons or spells. You will encounter a pair of Plaguebearer Boggarts. Just assault them with fire to take them out quickly.

Follow him down into the water. Keep moving as there are a number of lightning traps that are hidden. They can only hit you when you stand still to loot or fight. Just head through and go up the stairs on the right when Egan makes the turn. A while later you will encounter a trio of Sprites. Defeat them with your blades or spells.

Follow on and you will find the marked chest with the Selkie Veil inside it. Loot it carefully as there are traps around in. Just trigger one, retreat, then open the chest. Now you just need to head back outside with Egan.

He will lead you back to his camp. There you will encounter Finna. She will demand you turn over the veil. Still, with some persuasion you can keep it as they are not Fae. You can question her some, if you chose a more peaceful route, about the veil and other things. Egan will see the error of his path and head back to the mission.
