Tera Walkthrough: Introduction to Gathering

This quest introduces you to gathering materials in Tera Online. Talk to Lilni, the Gathering Guide, standing in the trade area of the Tower Base on Island of Dawn. This is a level 3 quest and is very easy to complete, so even if you know how to gather, you should do it for some quick experience points.

Introduction to Gathering
Nature's bounty is all around you. Ores, plants, and energy are all materials that can be harvested for crafting. This will serve you well, as crafted items are generally superior quality. Materials are everywhere. See what I mean?
Gatherable items activate when you walk near them - a circle appears much like the one I am standing in. Stand next to a gatherable item and press F. If it fails, try again. Give it a try yourself. Look around near me for reddish rocks. When you find and activate one, press the [F] key.

Your task is to collect ore from a rock near Lilni. Press [F] at the mock rock to her right. You will receive a Primer Ore. Do this again and get a second Primer Ore. Then, check back with Lilni for other tips on gathering:

Good work. You wouldn't believe how many people come back to me with some random pebbles. When you're in a group, you'll gather materials faster and share in the rewards. Another way to speed up gathering: increase your Gathering Skill level through practice. Practice makes perfect!

When you come across a node, it displays its type and difficulty (based on your current skill level). You never have to train to gather - you start the game with the ability to collect all three types of resources (ore, plants, and energy crystals). Gathering nodes automatically display in your compass map. When you collect a resource, not only do you receive the corresponding item, but you also gain experience and sometimes a temporary buff. These random effects can stack up to 3 times each, offering a boost to healing, attack speed, or even your gathering skill!

You receive 10 copper coins and 100 XP points for completing this quest.
