After disrupting the rituals in both the Hidden Conclave and the Secret Altar, your quest log updates:
Shadows in the Desert
Go to the Black Canyon Bridge
The Black Canyon Bridge. The bridge is on the north side of the Howling Plateau. Head there. The bridge is broken, and you cannot cross it just yet. Talk to the Enchantress first. She thinks it is time for you to know her true tale.
Enchantress: I am not from Caldeum. I learned these spells fifteen hundred years ago. My sisters and I pledged our service to a man of great power. We called him the Prophet. He trained us and placed us in a magical slumber to awaken in this area. I am to prevent the Lords of Hell from invading.
You will now get the following option
Enchantress:
The Enchantress is a spellcaster able to wield staves, two-handed swords, two-handed maces, or two-handed axes. Do you want to replace the Templar (or the Scoundrel) with the Enchantress? If so, the Templar (the Scoundrel) will return to town and you can add them to your party at any time.
It is recommended that you choose yes, just so that you can try out this new follower, learn her skills and strategies, and become familiar with her tactics. You can always use a town portal later and rehire your original follower, if you are not happy.
Recruiting the Enchantress also gives you the following achievement:
Me, Myself and Eirena
Use the Enchantress as your follower
Make sure to left click on her, and choose skills for her. Most likely the level 15 skills will be available:
Charm
Temporarily charm an enemy to fight for you
Forceful Push
Creates an explosion that deals massive damage and knocks back enemies.
Forceful Push is a more useful skill, but Charm is a more fun skill. Choose the skill you prefer.
This completes the quest, Shadows in the Desert. You receive the next quest:
The Road to Alcarnus
Cross the Black Canyon Bridge
You should now be able to cross the bridge into the Black Canyon Mines. A checkpoint is reached as you crossed, and there is also a waypoint near this bridge. Note that you can only take the waypoint to places belonging to the current act (in this case, Hidden Camp and Blue Canyon Miles) and not to places from Act I such as New Tristram.
