Monado Flash!- Briefly, there is a green-tinted view of Otharon perched on some kind of machine, aiming an ether rifle. This is broken into by another prescient moment- Otharon falling, rifle in one hand, into a mass of something teal-green and apparently liquid, calling out that ‘this is for Juju and Gadolt!’ Perhaps thankfully, this vision is very brief. In fact, it’s already over.
Shulk looks puzzled for a moment afterwards, mumbling to himself in confusion as he watches Otharon walk away. Reyn looks to his friend, noticing that something is off, and asks what’s up- but Shulk refuses to explain, saying that ‘it’s nothing’.
Control is handed back to you, but the only new thing to do, really, is inspect the one room in the depot and locate a Heart-to-Heart- this one for Sharla and Shulk, once they’ve reached ‘happy cloud’ affinity. What you really need to do is head onwards, not back- and into more mining tunnels.
As you go to head down the stairs from the depot platform, it’s time for more plot. The group is filing down the stairs when Reyn stops to look back- Shulk is lagging behind. He tries to encourage Shulk with a ‘Hurry it up, slowcoach!’ This causes Sharla and Otharon to stop and look, Sharla taking her turn to ask what’s wrong. Otharon ignores this, though, turning to move on anyways.
Shulk is immersed in though about his foresight once again, granting you a view again of the teal whatever and Otharon’s vengeance-cry. The camera cuts back to Shulk, still standing on the top of the stairs and brooding. He wonders if Juju is already dead- or if his vision means that Juju is going to be killed before they can reach him. He puzzles over what that means, and supposes Otharon’s death might be caused by continuing.
Abruptly, Shulk darts forwards to the foot of the stairs, with a short cry of ‘No!’
Reyn, concerned, asks him what’s wrong- Otharon draws a different conclusion. Stepping back towards the others, he says that if Shulk is going to refuse to fight, if he can’t take it, he should drop the Monado and go home. Shulk says that isn’t it- but rather than saying what is on his mind, he mumbles and stutters indecisively. As he does, Otharon starts to get fed up. This finally spurs Shulk into saying something- but what he says is a suggestion against a headlong rush- prompting further disbelief in Otharon. Reyn points out that the group has come a long way already operating the way they have, and Shulk attempts to counter by suggesting observing the Mechon and planning.
This turns out to be the wrong thing to say around Otharon.
