As Dickson and Dunban move to return to the others, Otharon greets the blond of the two. Dickson returns the greeting to his old friend, glad to see that Otharon still lives. Sharla, startled, abruptly realizes that Dunban and Dickson are the heroes of Sword Valley. This gives Dickson pause, and he asks what she’s doing with Shulk and Reyn- but Shulk interrupts to thank Dickson and Dunban for their help with the Mechon. Dunban refuses, saying that he and Dickson didn’t do much. Dickson agrees with the swordsman, saying that thanks ought to be reserved for the ‘giant bird’.
Shulk asks what the flying thing was, and Dickson explains that it is a Telethia- ancient mystical beasts that are supposed to protect the Bionis while it sleeps. He further divulges that it’s unusual for such a creature to be down this far- in Homs territory. Shulk and Dunban both think about this for a bit, and then Dunban asks Shulk about his plans going on from here. He assumes that the boys intend to pursue Metal Face.
Reyn agrees with this, prompting Dunban to claim that the only place it makes sense for Metal Face to go is Galahad Fortress, which is in Sword Valley. Apparently, a year ago- around the time of the Battel of Sword Valley- the Mechon started building the fortress, which is a good tactical position to attack from. He supposes that, given it’s been about a year, the Mechon may have had time to finish their construction. The swordsman also asserts that it could be the reason for the attacks.
Otharon mulls this over, recalling the location of the Sword Valley fight. Reyn just enthuses over the chance to break down a fortress- and some more Mechon. Shulk steps in, though, telling him to let up because there’s somewhere they have to go before they can head there. Reyn is incredulous at first, then accuses Shulk of having another vision. Shulk nods in response, and Dickson asks what they’re talking about.
The explanation, thankfully, gets skipped.
Having heard the whole of the travels of Reyn and Shulk now, Dickson says that the visions sound useful and asks what Shulk saw. The younger blond explains that he was somewhere very high up, fighting Metal Face at the top of a tower. He also heard a voice that unleashed the Monado’s power, allowing him to reave Metal Face of his armour- and points out that the Monado has so far been incapable of that.
The elder blond considers this, but says that ‘a tower’ isn’t much to go on. Sharla asks Shulk if he recalls anything else- and he mentions that there was a huge horn somewhere nearby, and he was able to see the head of the Bionis while he was fighting Metal Face. Taking a moment more to consider this, Dickson comes up with the possibility of Prison Island, a place he’s never been. He has, however, heard of a black tower at the Bionis’ head, supposedly built by the ancient High Entia race. This causes Shulk to exclaim, as he always thought the High Entia were a myth. Dickson agrees that this is a reasonable conclusion, but points out that the Bionis is home to many races. It just happens that the High Entia are one.
Dunban muses that he also thought the High Entia were mythical, but Dickson retorts that it’s a bad idea to assume things. Shulk asks if Dickson’s ever met a High Entia- and apparently, the man has.
