The Upper Satorl Marsh is distinct from the Lower Marsh for a number of reasons beyond just being higher up and further South. For one thing, where the lower parts of the Marsh are, well, marshy, the Upper Marsh is mostly tiered grasslands with a number of lakes and rivers running through it, as well as a few large ponds. It’s also home to the majority of the Igna and a number of ruins of various sizes that are going to play a major part in your non-mainstory activities around here. Keep an eye on the monsters- there are a large number of named monsters here, and they’re all dangerous for various reasons.
Upper Satorl Marsh Area
Level Range: 22-26 and 28 and 30 and 80-85
Rhogul- Rhogul are back again, and as before, they’re large and kind of threatening. The rhogul around here mostly wander small areas near cliffs and such, but can occasionally be found meandering around in the middle of nowhere. At this level, rhogul get access to the Speed Up Ether art, which increases their attack rate and motion speed, making them difficult to escape and keeping their offense rate up. As with the Quadwings, you want to stay away from these near dusk, as their nighttime bretheren are unforgiving and mighty. Keep an eye out for Sunlight Schvaik, who only appears during the day. This unique Rhogul packs both Build Up, a physical protection boost, and Heavy Crash, a massive attack that will reduce the physical defence of anyone it hits.
Types: Mist Rhogul, Satorl Rhogul (Level 80-84, Night Only), Sunlight Schvaik (Level 30, Daytime Only)
Flamii- Flamii are Flamii, and really there’s not much else to say about them. They do tend towards the higher end of the local level spectrum, but that’s not saying a lot as they still don’t fight particularly well. There is a named one- Amber Fischer- who packs a melee daze attack, but it still just isn’t that threatening.
Types: Lacus Flamii, Amber Fischer
Upa- Mad Upa replace the Acid Upa here, and they remain sight-aggressive pack fighters of no particular skill.
Types: Mad Upa
Bunniv- The rabbits are back, and they’re back in numbers. The Ether and Ogre Bunnia are all pack fighters, and aggressive on sight. While not too dangerous in a fight, it’s hard to get only one or two of them in a fight at a time- the whole lot of them are crammed into a relatively small area and wander a lot within that area. Ogre Bunnia are by far the more dangerous, as the Ether Bunnia, despite their name, have no notable Ether attacks to wield against you. As long as you can manage not to get swarmed, you should be fine.
Types: Ogre Bunnia, Ether Bunnia
Nebula- These Nebulae are only getting more dangerous- now that they’re in the upper-20's they add on to the Elemental Cannon attack with the Elemental Strike, an area Ether attack that hits everything near them.
Types: Aqua Nebula, Frost Nebula (Level 80, Night Only)
